Well, here's one for…read moreya...... back in August of 2012, I was sitting on the couch bare foot and I stood up and broke my foot. Yes, you heard me correctly, I stood up. I didn't trip.... I didn't fall... I didn't so much as even twist my ankle or foot. Yet, somehow, I managed to break a little bone on the side of my left foot just below my pinky toe. I hobbled around in pain for 2 weeks before I finally decided something must be wrong and decided to see a doctor. Seriously, I would have never fathomed I'd broken my foot just by standing up! I did an internet search of Baptist doctors and found Dr. Eric Shultz in Riverside. When I called, they were quick to get me in the very next day. Dr. Shultz is just amazing! He has a great bedside manner and really took the time to talk to me, to explain what happened, and answer any and all questions I had. I got the privilege to wear one of those big 'ole "moon boots" for a number of weeks and it was Dr. Shultz himself who fit me with it and showed me how to take it off and on. This was really surprising to me because most doctors have their assistants do such menial tasks. Aside from the broken foot incident, I also had to see Dr. Shultz several months later because I began having pain in the heels of both feet when I would walk. I can't recall the diagnosis anymore, but I went twice for him to give me injections in my heels. A shot in the heel of the foot... joy! Actually, as painful as it sounds, it wasn't that bad. Dr. Shultz did a great job and really all I felt was a lot of pressure. The two rounds of shots did the trick though. It's been a little over a year and I've had no more pain in my feet. The office staff here is also great from his assistants to his front office staff. They are all friendly and caring. I personally have never really had a wait at this office. Dr. Shultz really runs on time. I've been in the waiting room less than 5 minutes every time and once in a treatment room, I've never waited more than 5 minutes for Dr. Shultz to come in. I very highly recommend Dr. Eric Shultz if you're in need of a podiatrist!

I found him to be very personable, knowledgeable and not quick to say...X-ray, MRI or any of that. He poked, prodded and squeezed my ankle then told me, what made sense, what was wrong! I over did it and my inside tendon was inflamed. Probable with "lots" of time it would get better (I was on 3 months already) but with a shot of cortisone it will feel better right away and the cortisone will reduce the swelling inside my ankle hence the healing could take place faster...bingo- we did it!

Most of the time we don't seek out a foot specialist until we are in pain but that is unfortunately not the best approach. If you have a foot doctor that you have seen at least once, when you have that foot emergency you are likely to get in pretty quickly. I would much rather come here for a splinter or glass removal than going to an emergency room. When you see a foot issue, definitely treat it sooner than later. It makes any recovery needed a lot faster. Most of the topicals and scrubs etc available over the counter are just not strong enough to help with some foot situations. Dr. Anderson is very personable and gives you different options in your treatment. Like all doctors, she's not a miracle worker, so don't come in with mangled feet and expect to walk out looking perfect, but she can definitely help you on your way to better foot health.
