It was apparent he considered his time more important than mine. I was asked to return for a follow up visit in 5 months. I asked for and scheduled their first appointment in the morning. I arrived this morning promptly at 8:00 at 8:50 I walked out of the office to find a new podiatrist...that hopefully schedules and runs their office efficiently and hires staff that respects its patients. On the way out, I politely requested they refund my copay. The receptionist actually pounded the desk and raised her voice to me saying: "You need to be patient". What I actually need is a new podiatrist

Dr. Grillo is a very straight forward, no nonsense doctor. I appreciate this because he will not beat around the bush or sugar coat things. He was able to have a good idea of what was going on before any tests and when the tests came back they just confirmed his original diagnosis. He was able to explain things in a manner that it is easy to understand and took the time to answer any questions I had. He came up with a couple different routes I could take to help my condition and told me his recomendations as to the course we should take. He is the type of doctor that does not want to take extreme measures if unnecessary. I am very satisfied with my experience and will continue to follow the treatment course he gave me.

She then tried to place the blame on me for not knowing whether my plan was an HMO. This level of unprofessionalism is unacceptable. I am genuinely relieved that I never made it as far as seeing Dr. Salvatori, because a practice is only as competent as the staff it hires.

He then identified the problem and set me on a clear treatment path without any fear mongering or outrageous out of pocket treatments. I came for a second opinion after visiting a "total" podiatrist with an office VERY close to Dr Calcagni and the difference is so very clear. The team at Coastal Foot and Ankle are here to treat their patients with care and dignity and not shady sales tactics to make a buck on their clients. Very happy and will recommend them to anyone I know in search of a quality podiatry Dr. Also looking forward to my custom prescription orthotics!!

LIFE-CHANGING RELIEF & EXCEPTIONAL CARE…read more I cannot say enough positive things about Dr. Christopher Calcagni. He has truly changed my quality of life. I have very high arches and a high step, which has made finding comfortable shoes difficult for years. I also developed painful calluses and assumed the issue was simply footwear. Dr. Calcagni took the time to clearly explain the anatomy of my feet and why they require specific support. Once that underlying issue was addressed, the pain resolved completely--just as he said it would. He removed my calluses painlessly, and after being fitted with orthotics, the difference was remarkable. I am now comfortable in a way I honestly didn't think was possible. The entire experience--from the professionalism and warmth of his staff, to the calm, welcoming office environment--was exceptional. Dr. Calcagni is not only extremely knowledgeable and skilled, but also personable, patient, and genuinely attentive. I hold a Master of Science degree and worked in healthcare for many years, so my standards are high. I was thoroughly impressed. Podiatry is often underappreciated in healthcare, yet its impact on daily comfort and mobility is profound--and Dr. Calcagni exemplifies the very best of this specialty. I recommend him without hesitation.

I was told I had 2 years in my Achilles tendon and it wouldn't take much for it to tear completely and that the stem cell treatment was needed this week.. if I didn't stop him and ask questions I know the Dr would have done the procedure right on the first day!! These things take prep the night before?! Know from the start that the Dr is going to aggressively push for stem cell treatment and use fear mongering and have a "it has to be done ASAP" mentality for expensive orthotics and SC/exosome treatment. It felt very sales pitch y to be honest. I went for a second opinion after being apprehensive about my experience at Total Podiatry and the second Dr mentioned that I wasn't the first to have this experience. Total podiatry is best for rich client who can afford expensive treatments out of pocket without doing any other homework and prioritizes a nice office over quality and realistic care.

I was placed in a cast and told my facture was non-weight bearing; I was to use a wheelchair or a scooter and the cast would have to stay on until 1/16. I later learned it was a simple fracture, that a boot would have been sufficient and it was NOT non-weight bearing. The fracture was fully healed by 12/11 - more than a month earlier than he wanted to keep me in a cast. He was also told me the injections could not be submitted to insurance because there was no billing code, which I later learned was not accurate. As long as he submits the visit, x-ray and cast to my insurance he has to submit the stem cell injections. In my opinion this experience felt more focused on out-of-pocket charges than patient care. I strongly recommend getting a second opinion or looking for a other options before agreeing to costly or invasive treatments.
