I've never written a review before, but I had to make a yelp account to warn people of this dental office. I came in for a broken tooth and after taking an x-ray, the "coordinator" there told me I had 3 other cavities that needed to be fixed. I did not have insurance and she convinced me that I was getting a great discounted price so I accepted.
First of all, expect to wait about 30-45 minutes past your scheduled appointment to get started. Also, the dentist (Robert Cha) always treats multiple patients at the same time, so he is constantly bouncing around from room to room. He leaves the room multiple times for 15-20 minutes at a time. My scheduled appointment was at 2:00pm and I left at 4:30pm for 2 fillings.
He treated the broken tooth (upper right) and the bottom right tooth which apparently had a cavity. Now, it's very important to note that I had no pain whatsoever on the bottom tooth before he treated it. The procedure itself was very painful and he just kept on injecting me with more numbing agent. After coming home, the numbing agent started to wear off and I found myself in a lot of pain. I couldn't even chew gum on my right side.
I came back on my second visit and told him about the pain. He injected me with the numbing agent about a dozen times and treated both teeth again (painful procedure again). I go home, the numbing agent wears off and I'm in more pain than ever.
I go back for a third time and now I'm frustrated because I took off work 3 times for the same procedure he kept messing up on. He now tells me I need a root canal for my broken tooth and he APOLOGIZED and offered me a REFUND for my bottom tooth which tells me he screwed up. He promised that my bottom tooth won't hurt after today. I leave and head to the front desk and I had to ASK for my refund and they had to go to the dentist and verify. I got my money back for the bottom tooth, but guess what? Pain again.
I call them and told them it still hurts, but now they tell me to go see another dentist because they refunded my money and that the "dentist and I are not a good match." I tried explaining to them that I had no pain whatsoever on the bottom tooth before starting treatment, but they didn't care. I will definitely find another dentist, but if he screwed up my tooth, he should fix his own mistake. I try to make an appointment, but now they are saying he is going on vacation, they are fully booked, and that I need to be put on a waiting list and the dentist might see me if someone cancels. Are you kidding me? Do you think I am an idiot?
I drove over there, asked for all my x-rays and history of treatment. I am making an appointment with the New Jersey Board of Dentistry to file a complaint.
