"Making your way in the world today takes everything you've got.
Taking a break from all your worries, sure would help a lot.
Wouldn't you like to get away?
Sometimes you want to go
Where everybody knows your name,
and they're always glad you came.
You wanna be where you can see,
our troubles are all the same
You wanna be where everybody knows
Your name.
You wanna go where people know,
people are all the same,
You wanna go where everybody knows
your name"
Why am I singing the theme song to Cheers? I'll tell you why.
I first dropped into the Rob Roy, for a quiet beer after moving into the area about a year ago. The bar staff seemed friendly enough, and respectful to spark up a bit of small talk as I quietly sat at the bar. Very rarely is this type of behaviour genuine; so much so, that it completely blew my mind when all the staff remembered my name after returning a week later. Rob Roy is a place for me where everybody knows your name. Although that may sound scary for some, it's not a bad thing at all.
Everyone should drop into the Roy at some stage.
