This operation had a Groupon that my wife purchased for my 30th bday present. For someone that has never been skydiving, this place was an excellent place to start. 1. Support local small businesses. - If you get a Groupon, that company is giving you a deal so that word of mouth starts picking up. It's your duty to report back(good or bad) on social media and review sites. These guys have a excellent Groupon, made it very cost efficient for giving it a go! 2. They guys working there were pretty cool. They were down a 'packer' and running a little behind, but that happens. They at least kept everyone in the loop! 3. The instructors were seasoned pros and everything went ultra-smooth. They talked you through each step several times and there were no surprises. I'd recommend this to my Mom. 4. The scenery in the dropzone was breathtaking. They are the only company that I'm aware of operating in the heart of the Rockies. The photo package was complimented with the stunning panoramas of the Glenwood area. You only live once, this is a great place to get started checking items off your bucketlist. I did! read more

Whoa baby, talk about an adrenaline rush!!! Came here on my birthday for my very first Skydive and it was an incredibly fun and amazing experience. I'm already excited for my next jump. Everyone working here was really nice and all the instructors were very experienced, fun to be around, and put me at ease. Since it was my first time I did a tandem jump, and the skydiver Josh jumped with me. He was really cool- friendly, and patient, walking me through what I needed to do as many times as I needed. I highly recommend ordering the pictures. It is $60 more but so worth it. Everything happens so fast that it feels like a blink. The pictures really help capture the experience. My friends and I were dying laughing when we looked at the pictures when we got home. If you've ever thought about skydiving, I highly highly recommend it and I thought this place was perfect for first timers. read more

It was my husband's and my first time skydiving and what an experience this was! I've always wanted to do it and finally stopped "wishing" I could... and decided to literally take the plunge. The guys at Independent were awesome - making us feel totally at ease and confident. They take their job seriously - but also made sure we were having fun. The views above Glenwood Springs were stunning and after landing... I feel like I can do anything! It's $75 extra to get photos, I wasn't going to get them but my husband convinced me and I'm SO happy I did. It all happens in the blink of an eye so it's great to go back through the photos to see the emotion on your face - we were laughing non-stop at all the great shots. Plus, to show my future kids their mom jumped out of planes... PRICELESS. We are definitely coming back and can't recommend this place enough. Do it now, do it now, do it now! read more

There's nothing like the euphoric rush of adrenaline you get from jumping out of an air plane! This is the place to do it. I highly recommend this crazy crew. The staff are professional and experianced. They maintain a fun atmosphere on the ground and in the air, I jumped this morning for my second time. I jumped with Dan and Darkside they were great we sat through a short weather hold and they kept us excited and entertained the whole time. I intend on jumping 657 more times with Roaring Fork Skydivers...sounds like an adiquate number:-) Maybe more. read more

This was my second tandem jump and this group of people were awesome. I also brought my Grandmother and Mother since they too wanted to jump. They were very professional, patient, and fun. We will be jumping again and we will definitely go back to Independent Skydive Company! We highly recommend getting photos too. The have had many laughs and it's a great momento. 11/09/2025 In…read morewriting this review, I have to admit I have a bone to pick with Ben Lowe and his usury pricing in taking a minor on a tandem. I communicated with Ben on several occasions by email and he had plenty of time to let me know that he charges more to take a minor on a tandem jump than his normal fee of $199. He waited until we'd driven 3 1/2 hours and I'm stand at his office window with my 14 year old daughter to tell me the fee was $499. When I questioned the amount he said since he's the only one willing to take minors on a tandem, that what he charges. Well that's a lie and he knows it. The skydiving center in Ft. Morgan Colorado will also take minors. They have new equipment and top notch instructors. You walk into Ben's hanger and it's an unorganized mess with old parachutes and gear cluttered here and there. Totally unprofessional in appearance. His tandem rigs look well worn and tired, like he might have bought all his equipment used a long time ago. None of this inspires confidence. His video is a bit of a scam. Normally you pay the video fee expecting another jumper to shoot video and pics while in free fall with you. You're paying for their jump as well as their services. Ben has a little hand held camera on his wrist and shoots the video himself. Not nearly the same quality you get from a professional photographer, yet he charges the same price. When it came to the jump, on exiting the Cessna 182 with my 90 pound daughter, Ben did a barrel roll and what looked like a front flip, not a flat and stable exit. If you can't do a stable exit with a 90 pound passenger, what's going to happen with someone weighing 150 pounds or more? Not very professional. The lack of organization of this whole business make me question how well they maintain the aircraft. Ultimately, he has antiquated equipment, a difficult demeanor and price gouges you for taking a minor on a tandem. There's plenty of other skydiving centers which operate on a much more professional basis and I will choose to go somewhere else next time.

Ben was so professional, super fun and a wonderful guide. We bought the video/ photo combo package for our daughter, but now wish we had sprung for it for my husband and I as well. The add on for the video/ photos is a little price, but he edits it, sends several options with different styles and music along with great photos, money well spent. the entire experience was beyond thrilling and we can't wait to return!

Thus, this old man lasted 20 min before he had to be literally tied into the middle of the boat along with his wife. This lead to only 4 of us paddling! Again, great time because how could you not on a beautiful day with the Gorge but keep old people that can't even barely walk nor paddle off the river!

Awesome experience. Literally wanted to dive again the second we landed! My mom bought my brother and I the Groupon as a Christmas present and we used it in June I believe. Beautiful day and amazing view! When we got there we were slightly sketched out because of the little airport not being what we had imagined but don't let that stop you. We got a little angry when the owner told us he had a no call/ no show instructor for the day and we wouldn't be able to dive at the same time. BUT he compensated by taking up both up separately (which was a lost to him) and he gave us a BOGO deal on the photos. And we parked in some in some random fenced in area that later ended up getting locked it. Jeremy (the owner (i think his name was)) called around and got it unlocked for us in the time it took us to have a beer. He was super rad and talkative. Made you feel really comfortable and is super experienced. DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THEM FOR YOUR FIRST TIME! read more

Wow! What a rush! And what an incredible experience! For my 50th birthday, several friends gave me a Groupon for RFS. I fulfilled this dream 3 days ago and it was awesome! RFS made myself and my wife feel right at home, and Jeremy made us feel like we've been friends forever. Jeremy was, thorough, and calmly dealt with my once-the-door-opened-anxiety language. What a great place. I a certified skydiver and have jumped at the big drop zones. When you go to the big places it feels like you are just pay your money and get pushed through. Here you get a personal experience with people that really love what they do. I have been around and seen how they take care of the tandem customers and it's almost like they are dealing with family. I wish I would have done my first tandem here!! I'm so glad that they are right here in glenwood. Btw.....the views are insane! Absolutly amazing!! Great job guys. read more

My wife and I did our first tandem jump with roaring fork skydivers, and let me just say that it was INCREDIBLE!! The team there is extremely friendly and professional and knows how to joke with a couple of nervous people who don't know what to expect to put them at ease. The location and scenery is second to none. This is an awesome place to skydive! I literally cannot stop thinking about skydiving now, it was such an amazing feeling and a huge rush! Looking into getting my A license so I can jump alone now! 5 stars for these guys! read more

This place is great. Every employee there was super nice and very excited we were there. The flight was the best flight I have ever had, the pilot made it so much fun. The jump was freakin awesomr. After got to hang out and talk with the employee's. Not a typical skydiving company. Not just a place u give money they take u up to jump and that's it....
