If I could put 0 stars I would they only have 1* because it's the lowest!!…read more We have attended this pub today there was 14 of us and it was utterly disgusting from the service to the food! Firstly they served all of the plates of roast dinners and left one of the kids ones my 6 year daughter waited 10 minutes after the other 13 meals came out for her meal to come and it was cold the potato's were cold on asking where her food was all I got was a "it's coming" not a single apology for her having to wait, Im sorry but kids should be served first! About half of the roast dinners were awful the beef was tough and full of fat barely any meat the gammon was really really salty I love salt but that was a joke and the potatoes were still white and solid in the middle not even nearly cooked, Yorkshire puddings were flat and soggy, vegetables were hard and stuffing solid!! Clearly the chef loves a good old microwave!!! We ordered two sausages and chips for two of the kids and they only gave them one sausage each after asking for the second on it was out piping hot in a minute (clearly microwaved) The staff didn't care if you enjoyed your food and the management cared even less, made you feel uncomfortable to even say anything I've never known a man to be so unapproachable and we were given stroppy answers they cannot take negative feedback. We paid £55.00 for a round of drinks and we were given dirty glasses for the kids so had to send them back and just ask for a straw for their drinks. We didn't even stay for desert the meal out us off enough we also felt uncomfortable and unwanted in the restaurant like we were putting them out.

Honestly an overall awful experience, I'll break it down…read more Service - the waitress we had was incredibly rude, argumentative and hostile. She not only got our order wrong, but argued what was actually said when we corrected her. The manager(?) who was wearing a red jumper had a face like thunder, very grumpy. One of the children in our party was the -last- to be served, she was sat waiting for food despite 13 other meals being brought out beforehand. And when it did come out, her potato's were cold. Not only is this absolutely disgusting service as the child was left without whilst everyone around her had their dinners, it also meant nobody was willing to eat their food as eating while a 5 year old child is left without is heart-wrenching. When we asked the waitress how long it would be for the food to come out for the child, we were given a snappy, rude and overall blunt response. This alone was enough to spoil the experience despite everything else added. Cleanliness- the glasses we were given with our drinks were disgusting, water stained and with pieces of dirt attached. Mine and another member of the party's knifes and forks were filthy, mine personally came with pieces of black dirt stuck to them, what this was I don't know. Nor would I like to know. It was simply proof that they had not been cleaned at all properly. Food- The roast dinner quality was appalling. The Yorkshire puddings were flat, soggy, and undercooked. The roast potatoes were hardly enough to be called roasted, they were cold, pale and hard. Barely cooked. The meat was over cooked, dry as a boot and overly salty. My experience personally was with the gammon and beef. Wherein I only received a tiny amount of gammon anyway. Two of our party requested to have their gammon switched to turkey as that was added to the options shortly after we ordered, however we were told that one of them could not be switched as "it was already put in" whereas the other was switched. This raises the question as to what it was put in that the other hadn't? The stuffing on the dinner was probably the worst I've had. Overly hard on the exterior and cold on the inside. Overall the quality of the meal was absolutely atrocious. The plates came out piping hot despite the food itself being again, dry and cold. This can only be due to the use of a microwave. The meal can only be compared to that of a secondary school dinner, nowhere near that of a pub roast which is what we were all expecting. I can wholeheartedly say I will not be returning and would warn others to avoid as well. The prices are high and the quality is low. Save yourself the hassle and go elsewhere.

Went to this restaurant for lunch. I had heard good things about the food. I was seated at a table…read moreand then forgot I think. Waited approximately 15 - 20 minutes without anyone attending to the table. So I got up and left. Not able to speak about the food. Sorry

If you haven't eaten here before or since the management takeover in November and are considering…read moreit, do yourself a favour and keep driving! A family meal for six - three adults and three children was ruined by the non-existent atmosphere and the food that was so awful the word to describe it hasn't been invented yet. We should have realised something was very wrong as a once very busy and vibrant restaurant was almost empty on a Sunday lunchtime . A pate starter arrived covered with salt and pepper - why?! If we wanted seasoning we would have added it ourselves. The beef in the roast dinners was very thick and so overcooked it had curled. It was so tough it needed to be sawed to cut through it. The pork was cold. The turkey was ok. The carrots were cooked to within an inch of their lives but somehow were also cold and ridiculously sweet as well as wrinkly and soggy. The microwaved cauliflower cheese was hard and still frozen in the middle. The frozen deep fried roast potatoes were cold and soggy. Then the cabbage... we couldn't decide whether it was crunchy or had rigor mortis. We asked for pigs in blankets and for them to be well cooked. They arrived with anaemic bacon so we sent them back. Someone in the kitchen picked the bacon off then returned the sausages to the table!!! We asked for replacements to be cooked properly which were absolutely vile. They were made with the cheapest, nastiest sausages and bacon. The children's meals all had very hard buns and cold, greasy chips. One alse had the extra garnish of a hair in the side garnish. This place is beyond grim and ridiculously overpriced with unpleasant servers who, for some reason, are offended when people complain about the inedible food being served. They threatened to kick us out if we kept warning other incoming customers about how awful it was. Sadly, no one else came in before we left so our hoped for and much anticipated liberation never came. Apparently this place is under new management. I really hope that Vintage Inns will not allow this continued massacre of their a once really pleasant restaurant and their reputation to continue for very much longer.
