Held at Hoo Farm, where entry is included with the price of your experience- win!, you wait by the doors excitedly for the keeper. Anyone who knows me, knows that I am terrible with surprises, receiving or giving, but I managed to to let on to what we were doing until the lady at the desk said so. Thankfully, his inkling had been correct about meeting his furry favourites. The booking system had some issues, and we did wait a little longer than we were supposed to, but our lovely keeper was very apologetic, and made sure we were still having the full time. First, we met Bessie. Bessie is a gorgeous tawny owl, who loves a tickle round the back of her head, and it was pretty amusing watching the keeper to try and fetch her out, even though she entirely loved the fuss once perched on our hands. Two chaps came over, definitely thinking they could get in on the fun with the least subtle hints I've ever seen, not for you today though, guys! Then, the foxes, gorgeous Reds, of course, in all of their little hierarchies, and we got to feed dead chicks to all of the alphas. The platinum and silver foxes were particularly quick, and the silver chap, by the name of druid, scent marked the leg of my other half with a bladder full, which amused me greatly. We were told plenty about the foxes, being provided with tonnes of knowledge. It was a great experience, and wonderful to be with keepers who were so passionate. Definitely recommended.

Some time ago me and my…read morewonderful partner (Dan G.) decided that we weren't going to buy each other many physical gifts for Birthday and Christmas. Instead, we set a budget and decided we would buy each other experiences. To date we have gone to gigs, shows and had days out; but my Birthday gift in March was really special. Dan had managed to find a voucher for a "Predator Experience" day at Hoo Farm with wild Wills Animal Encounters (http://www.willswildanimalencounters.com/) and kept it a secret for over a month. I did eventually guess what the present was (after a few clues), but that didn't detract from the excitement I felt when I woke up on Sunday morning. As I stated on my Hoo Farm review, the venue is only about 45 minutes away from Central Birmingham and is dead easy to get to. We had our experience booked for 1pm, so we enjoyed hanging out with various animals and had our picnic lunch before gathering in the courtyard awaiting our keeper to take us round the animals we were seeing that day. Our keeper was a lovely, bubbly and interesting young lady (who I believe was one of the family who owned the farm). She gathered us together (there are only 4 people allowed on a Predator experience) and took us to the fox enclosure first. After some background about the foxes (they were all rescued from various different places under different circumstances) and giving us some insight into the personality of each different animal, we were invited to glove up and grab a chick to feed the cheekiest fox around, Sparky. Sparky was giving us all begging looks and climbing up our legs to get to the food. Lula the vixen also poked her head in to get some chicks too! Double fox fun! After the foxes, we moved on to the Racoon dogs. After being introduced to Loki, Laufey and Yoshi; we were invited to feed them. In between the feeding they were weaving through our legs, trying to climb our trousers and generally being cheeky and adorable. Honestly, if like me you love cuteness you HAVE to give this a go . Finally (after all the chicks were gone), we were invited to de-glove to go and meet Zeus and Dooma (the Servals). I could write a whole review on how amazing this was, but I have (instead) uploaded a bunch of photos to give you a good idea. Between playing with string, having them sit on our laps and give us kisses and having a good old fuss and a play - this was the highlight of the day. The money for the voucher was worth this experience alone. We got a good 30 minutes to play with these cute, cheeky and affectionate big cats before it was time to take our leave. If you have someone (like me) in your life who loves furry animals, you HAVE to check this out. Its worth EVERY PENNY and you won't be disappointed. A big thank you to all at Hoo Farm and Wild Wills Encounters for a tremendous day out.

It's soon pretty apparent that this is mainly a child and family-focussed attraction, there are loads of games and activities for children to take part in throughout the farm site. Despite this, we had a wonderful time. We got to pet and feed lots of animals including cows, sheep, chicken, deer, goats, pigs and rabbits. Also at the farm are Alpacas, Wallaby, Meerkats, donkeys, shire horses, ponies, parrots, limas, owls, foxes, ferrets and many more. The actual olympic events were lots of fun and none of the animals were harmed or seemed in any distress. The main events were sheep hurdles and cross country goat racing which were pretty funny although the dog ability event was even funnier as both dogs did completely the opposite to what they were told! The only thing we didn't like is we hate to see large birds in small cages and would have preferred if the parrots had larger enclosures like the Owls. There's a nice little gift shop and an onsite cafe plus woodland walk and picnic area. I would highly recommend this for a family day out but adults don't be put off - we loved it!

Reasonably priced (And admission included if you book an animal experience), and really little ones free in, it's a good place to go if you have a love for animals, or children to entertain. (I've also heard that they do rather fab school trips, which with how friendly the staff are, and the ability to interact with and see so many animals, I'm not surprised). Expect your standard farm yard animals, in their most adorable forms, cheeky goats, parrots that say hello, beautiful scottish wildcats, a range of raptors, otters, warthogs, forest animals such as hedgehogs and foxes, meerkats, servals, all sorts, a really nice range, to be honest! We arrived quite late in the day, but if you are there from early on, you really can make a full day of it by sticking around for different talks and meetings. There's even sheep racing, and little feedbags you can buy- palms flat though guys! And when you need to feed yourselves there's a little tea room and a picnic area too.

This place is all about fun and fitness for the whole family. They have a massive high wire forest adventure course; which is set within the countryside and developed to encourage you to get moving, and trust me by the end you the adventure a good cuppa and sleep is what you'll need, though if it is for the family then keeping the kids active by getting them tired then Jungle Parc is the place to bring them. It is a very safe environment and with all the proper equipment it is very enjoyable. The X-plorer course is for anyone over 1.35m in height and the Adventurer course is for children from 4 years old and with minimum height of 1.05m. The premises consists of two different courses: X-Plorer course and Adventurer course (for the little ones). Each course is ideally designed with a practical element, almost like an assault course but with the fun involved. There are 40 amazing activities to enjoy as you glide through trees on rope bridges, zip lines and cargo! It definitely sounds exciting as it really is. Adults are just £20 and Juniors £15. Prices include full training and all equipment to make sure you are fully prepared and safe. Not bad at all for an adventourous day in jungle like surroundings.

This museum/activity centre allows you to switch on your imagination in the interactive Design & Technology Centre and discover how good ideas are turned into great products. Children can find out how a little ingenuity will let you pull a 10 ton locomotive or generate electricity from flowing water. Displays will allow you to look at familiar objects with new eyes using the giant X ray machine. You can build an earthquake proof tower and challenge the robotic arm. There are also stands to test your brain power and powers of thought and reasoning whilst trying to complete a series of puzzles and teasers. This is the ideal museum to take children to as there is so much for them to do here. They will want to wander around the place and look at the exhibitions. Beats the usual moans and groans when you tell them they are going to a museum!! The museum is not huge, but will certainly take up to 2 hours of your day to walk around it and try out all the gadgets, puzzles and games. Car park is £1.50 all day to allow you to visit as many museums in the area as you want to and to take in the scenic walk along the old industrial valley. The museum costs £7.85/adult and £6.85/child, however you can buy a 12 month passport for £22.50/adult & £14.75/child which allows you to visit all 10 museums in the local area as many times as you like in a 12 month period. If you are in the area for any period of time, or intend coming back to see other attractions, then this is definitely the most cost effective way of visiting everywhere.

Between the age of 2 and 5 theres a small ball pit with climbing apparatus and slide. My almost 3 year old son and his almost 2 year old cousin love this area and will happily climb up, around and then slide into the ball pit while we watch. For the older children theres a much larger climbing area with a huge wavy slide. For a small fee the children can drive the safari cars or/and have a go on the jungle train. They also hold partys which are very reasonably priced, and the children all love it. It includes dancing games, a meal, drinks, a ride on the train, playing on the apparatus and a goody bag, though when they play on the apparatus the staff leave them to their own devices. There is also a cafe to get drinks and food from and a large seating area in the middle. During the holidays it is manic, with the seating area full of parents, the children running wild on the apparatus. It is extremely noisy. With all this the staff are amazing, calm, helpful and polite.

There's crazy golf, a hedge maze (much easier than I remember it being) and areas with different fairy tale themes. I preferred it personally when the castle was still a castle, but now it's a cafe with a soft play area. There are little dinosaur valleys, and I always thought Hansel and gretels cottage and the crooked house were great.
