We went to Cape Fear Vacuums looking specifically for a Riccar vacuum. John, the owner, took the…read moretime to explain all the features of the models we were interested in and also gave us comparisons between the Riccar vacuums and the other brands he carries. We bought the cordless, supra- lightweight Riccar and I couldn't be happier with it. This is an expensive vacuum, but to me, over it's lifetime will be worth every penny! I actually enjoy vacuuming with this machine - no cords to have to wrap, unwrap, step over and on and no looking for an outlet. Plus it's unbelievably lightweight. I highly recommend this store and this vacuum!

I purchased vacuum bags at Cape Fear Vacuum store, located in Wilmington, NC, on Van Campen Blvd.;…read morethree out of the six bags were defective, and the bags could not be used on my ORECK vacuum cleaner. The store owner (a lady) was extremely rude and nasty, and she would not even offer a store credit for the defective bags. I have been a store customer of theirs for years, and I will no longer patronize this business. I notified ORECK Corporate Headquarters, and they apologized for the rude behavior, in addition to sending me three vacuum bags at NO COST to me. The vacuum bags cost roughly $26 plus tax; ORECK has sent me 3 bags at no cost to me. How was I to know that bags were defective until I went to use them?!!! I just want to make you all aware of the poor customer contact that this store provides; I will no longer return to this store, and my family and friends are done with this store, too.

I called Archer's Appliance because I had a dryer that was shutting off due to overheating. The…read moredryer was also causing a lot of vibrations even with a light load of laundry. I did some troubleshooting on my own and the overheating was likely caused by a clogged dryer vent. I cleared the vent but I was still worried about the safety of the appliance so I wanted to have a professional do some troubleshooting. I scheduled an appointment for a Monday and due to some circumstances I had to call on Friday evening after normal hours to reschedule. Melody with Archer's Appliance called back on Saturday and was very polite and helped me reschedule. When the technicians came out for the repair, they discovered they couldn't access the dyer because of a cabinet that had been built around it. The cabinet provided no clearance to actually pull out the dryer due to how it was bolted to the washing machine below it. I felt bad about wasting their time, but they recommended that I hire a carpenter to rebuild the cabinet and then they would come back. I found a carpenter to do the job, and Jeffrey (technician) came back promptly and was able to properly diagnose the dryer and make sure it was working properly. He also tightened the frame so that it didn't vibrate as much. Despite having to come back for a second visit, they didn't charge me extra and I really appreciate that. The company was very reliable and communication was excellent. I felt bad about rescheduling on short notice and requiring them to come back a second time after the carpentry work was completed, but they were very understanding. They are definitely on my preferred list of vendors!
