Our company needed a full truckload 53' trailer shipment setup for a Saturday at 10AM pickup. I contacted R&L Carriers 4 days prior to needing my shipment being picked up. We agreed upon a price and it was paid for out of the business account. Two days before pickup had been scheduled I start getting questions asking me if a smaller trailer would work, or what about a refrigerated truck? These options didn't work for me and I needed the agreed upon truck at the location on Saturday at 10AM. I had asked if there would be a problem and I was told "no there will be no problem securing the truck - LA is a big place and we have lots of trucks available". The next day early in the morning I receive an email stating that the truck is scheduled to pickup through a certain carrier and that I would have my 10AM pickup. I was relieved as the company had given me a scare the day before. Later that evening I am then sent an email stating that the trucking company was unable to secure a driver for my pickup and that they are "very sorry" for the situation. I am sent this email at 5:08 PM east coast time. This leaves me no time to find another carrier to secure a truck for our pickup. Instantly I called the company, and more specifically, my rep Scott Navin. Scott Navin has decided to immediately go home after sending me this email leaving me with NO ONE to help me. Within 30 minutes the whole branch is closed and gone for the weekend with nothing but an email stating "were sorry for the inconvenience". This pickup was scheduled on Saturday to allow several important people who HAD to be there time in their busy schedules to get the load onto the truck. We did our best to forward plan for the situation, while R&L Carriers completely failed our business. Be careful when thinking about using R&L carriers. They will take your money, tell you everything is good, and then leave you hanging. read more
