A REVIEW THAT'S LONG OVERDUE!…read more I cannot sing the praises loud enough for Louise and her great staff! I went to Louise because I was adding an addition to my house. I knew what I wanted because I was copying a neighbor who added the same addition to his house. I met with Louise and she gently suggested that I may have a better option. For no extra charge, she prepared two black-line drawings: my design and hers. Hands down, her idea was much better, and I am so pleased about the design, and how it looks like it was part of the house; not an addition. I guess if you're smart enough, you can go to school to learn the math and science of architecture. However, to be good and great, you need to have innate artistic ability, which Louise possesses. Louise and her staff truly care. Example, when deciding whether to put in a sky light, Louise factored in the direction of my home, and how the sun tracks throughout the seasons. On another note, my GC asked Louise a lot of questions throughout the construction; he probably took more of Louise' time that I'm even aware of. Although I should have probably been billed for her time, she never did. When I made changes to the design, she did not take advantage of me. Her fees for the changes and extra printing were very reasonable. I can go on forever but, to sum it up, a true gem; a master of her craft; a good person, and a fantastic staff. Thank you, Louise:)

He took a large space and made it every square inch functional for our family. The finished product is absolutely beautiful and I am so happy in this space! In addition to our kitchen, we were working with Scott to do an addition of our upstairs to include a master bath suite and closet as well as adding a fourth bedroom. Scott was very much involved with every aspect of the "leg work". He attended countless meetings with our General Contractor, recommended a fantastic structural engineer, and worked closely with the surveyor. After hearing our initial concerns, Scott advised us against doing this addition as he felt that it would not be a good return on our investment. I was so very impressed by his honesty! He knew this would be a decision we would regret and he was right! Scott has wonderful ideas and insight and listens to his clients to provide the best possible solution that will fit your needs! He is prompt and responsive in his communications and delivers drafts to you on their deadline (if not before!). Choosing Scott as your architect means you will work with an experienced, honest and trust worthy professional who has your best interests in mind!

After meeting with several firms, it became clear that none matched HIR Architecture & Design's ability to balance striking design with how a space actually feels and functions day to day, while creating a space that's environmentally friendly. What Hannah ultimately created is a home that seamlessly blends luxury with intention. Every detail--from expansive gathering spaces to quiet, restorative corners--was thoughtfully considered. The design invites connection while still offering comfort and retreat, all set against a backdrop of breathtaking views. It's the kind of space that feels as good as it looks--warm, functional, and effortlessly beautiful. What truly set Hannah's work apart, though, was her partnership. She listened closely, pushed our thinking in the best ways, and navigated inevitable challenges with creativity and care. Rather than straining the process, those moments strengthened it--resulting in a home that reflects not only exceptional design, but a deeply collaborative journey to get there! It's our dream house!
