I was here recently checking out the Liminal (http://londonist.com/2009/03/preview_liminal_a_question_of_posit.php) exhibition. In addition to this 2008 RIBA Award winning architectural marvel being the perfect place for such an exhibition about urban positioning, Rivington Place was a delight to check out on its own merits. Nice cafe too. However, I've gotta say this big modern building kinda sticks out in a sore thumb sorta way. Ultimately, I supposed I'm glad it's there - especially if lots more interesting (and free!) exhibitions keep passing through. I just hope it doesn't alter the tone of Rivington Street or usher in more developments, resulting in a characterless zoo of buildings and squeeze out the vibrancy of this vibe-y Shoreditch lane. read more
