First, I'm a 71 yr old 6.2 Handicap golfer. I played a practice round on March 13th and a…read moretournament round on the next day. The good: Challenging but fair layout. Greens were fairly fast but rolled true - loved the Greens! Overall maintenance was good considering it is a desert course. The staff was very friendly and helpful in the clubhouse. The bad: The Sand Traps - OMG, clean them out and put some sand in them! They were raked mechanically, but whatever they used left deep grooves in the very lumpy sand. I could never get a decent lie in the traps! I mean, I can hit a ball out of a fairway bunker as long as I can get the club on the ball. But not in these bunkers! The balls had either clumps of sand/dirt behind it or it was buried in a groove created by the mechanical raking. So, our tournament director had us start on #8b - so we had as threesome start before us on 8. We moved along nicely. By the time we made the turn, there was about a hole open between our group and the threesome. So, what did the course staff do? They stuck a foursome followed by a single in front of us! (WHAT THE FUCK?!) So we go from having a very nice, smooth game around the course to having to wait on every hole for our last 7 holes - three times, the single player was still on the tee when we finished a hole and went to the next tee box. The parking lot: GRAVEL?! Are you kidding me? For a "Resort" course that charges a hundred dollars per person per round, you can't afford to pave that small parking lot?

Had a great time on this course. Made a tee time for 4 on a golf trip. They spaced us out very…read morenicely, so there wasn't any groups right on our tail. The course was in really nice shape. The Greens were slow but a very forgiving course. Very windy the day we went, but still had a great time. A little more difficult to play than Laughlin ranch, so be ready to have a challenge!

This is a very nicely cared for golf course. It's a combination between a regular 18-hole links…read morecourse and a 9-hole executive course. It's just 9 holes but with alternate tee boxes on most holes it plays like 18. Plus it has both par 3 and par 4 holes (Holes 3 and 18 play like par 5's). It's both challenging yet very doable. The staff here are very friendly and helpful as well. And with a restaurant and full bar, they have you covered. They host tournaments and other events here and membership brings extra amenities like a private bar, pool, game room and more. When looking for a very nice day of golf, don't pass this course up. It has mature trees, water and tricky sand. A definite thumbs up - and the price is right.

My family and I have been using the pool at Chaparral Golf Club for nearly 20 years. Every summer,…read moremy children look forward to spending time there, and it has always been a special place for our family. Unfortunately, this year the prices suddenly increased from around $60 per month per family to $400 per person for six months, or a single payment of $600 per family. For many local families, especially single-income households like ours, this is simply unaffordable. What made the situation even more disappointing was the lack of notice and the fact that no payment options were offered. When I called to ask if we could make payments, I was told it was full payment or no access to the pool. It is very sad to see such a drastic change after so many years. Families who have supported and enjoyed this place for decades are now being priced out completely. I hope management will reconsider and offer more reasonable pricing or payment plans so local families and children can continue enjoying the pool during the summer.
