Course is in bad shape. Several fairways have major bald spots and have long stretches of sand. Bunkers were hard packed mud- no sand Most T boxes were good Nice driving range Some greens were in marginal shape but overall not bad. Biggest complaint is the fairways need a lot of TLC . Played the course today for the first time. For January conditions, they course was in pretty good shape. The clubhouse is nice. The best part was the friendly staff. The lady bar tending was very nice. The cart girl made her way around frequently, and you could just tell she was genuinely a nice person. I'd definitely play the course again. read more

I wish I could leave no stars!! We had a baby shower at this location and they never turned the AC on. We have a bunch of elderly and a pregnant woman. The room never went below 97. It was absolutely miserable and when we talked to the bartender she was rude and told us that we she could not help us. However when the new mother scouted the location it was ice cold. read more

Some good things about this course and a few things that need attention. Course is very green, staff the only one working was very pleasant, some challenging holes, carts have lots of power and wasn't very busy, finished 9 holes in 1 1/2 hours and shot a 43 on back 9. Greens were true and played well. T boxes aren't cut low enough you need very long T's if you T off with ball lifted a little, no bathrooms not even porta potty, filled with water everywhere due to monsoons I'm assuming that occurred a couple days ago which brings lots of mosquito's so bring spray couldn't buy any at pro shop because it was closed. The earliest T time is 630 you can get a 5am at most courses around town so after 9 holes hot and muggy. It appears they are lacking staff so the little things aren't done like the sand pits which were comply mud unless you had ball retriever you couldn't get your ball unless you wanted to sink in mud. No practice swings there were no balls at driving range and it was being mowed. I will play here again have meet pro who I didn't see today and he is very nice and helpful. If the little things get done this would be a great experience, very low price 20 to ride if you pay on line and 25 if you pay at course. read more

We played this course for the first time today. The course overall is nice. However, there are mosquitoes everywhere!! Dont come here unless you bring your own mosquito repellent. Of the 18 holes, 15 were good. There were three holes that were sub-par (haha). Holes 2-4 were overwhelmed with the mosquitoes and mud/debris from the storm that hit a week ago. Some of the cart paths had water and mud puddles. My suggestion, wait a month or so until they have an opportunity to clean up the course. But still bring the mosquito repellent. read more

Played 3 rounds here this week. 2 in one day. Of the 3 courses in the area that I played during my visit, El Rio was by far the best, and it was also the lowest price. Can't beat that. It is fun and fair, but plenty challenging for most skill levels. The course is in excellent condition, especially for this time of year. While spending a few days in Laughlin Nevada, I decided to play a round of golf. I scanned the Internet for courses in the Laughlin (NV) and Bullhead City (AZ) area. Being bold, I decided to ask a group of hotel guest that were carrying golf bags of a decent golf course. They told me of Laughlin Ranch, El Rio, and Desert Lakes. I ended up going to El Rio Country Club. As you drive out, you wonder, am I in the right town and did I miss the turnoff? Finally arriving, as I drove up, first impression was good. As I walked up into the Club House and into the Restaurant area, I thought, sweet, not bad, how much is this going to cost. I then checked in at the Pro Shop and was greeted by a cheerful, helpful and polite attendant. The Pro Shop, like any other Pro Shop, carried balls, tees, gloves, shirts, wind shirts, shoes, caps, visors, hats, ball markers and divot tools. As i walked out to the starter, he told me it would be a few minutes and directed me to the driving range to warm up hitting a few balls. I was paired up with two others, also vacationing in Laughlin, so why didn't we carpool, I guess we didn't know each other was playing. As we played, the Tee boxes, fairways and greens were green and in excellent condition. As I mentioned, the fairways were in excellent condition, but just off the fairways, is hard pack and/or gravel. Remember, you are playing in a desert course here, so play in the fairways or your clubs will get scratched up. There are four holes/greens (8, 9, 17 & 18) that are a little bit more challenging, as there is water involved. The 17th green is 70% surrounded by water, so play smart. As per this posting, I played in Spring (late March) which was a little breezy in the morning and became a little windy in the afternoon. Some fairways were lined with Homes and some open desert. Your green fees include range balls. The carts have GPS units, a small cooler, ice and two bottles of water. The Club House Bar Restaurant area is very spacious, with a view of the driving range and 18th green (at a short distance). The bar seems to be fully stocked, surrounded with bar stools. The club house can accommodate at least seventy people/golfers seated at tables. I didn't see anyone eating at the time, so i don't know about their food. At the cart return, there were two attendants that will clean your clubs, put on club covers and remove your bag off the cart, so a couple of bucks will keep them happy. I took one star away because the cart path connecting some holes were dirt and not paved. read more

We played this course in April 2018. This course is beautiful. They had been working on the greens but played average. fairways were in great shape. Driving range with free range balls. Worst greens I have ever seen! Paid top dollar and they didn't even have food at the restaurant contrary to their advertising. Stay AWAY.

Just had my daughter's wedding here this weekend. What a wonderful and beautiful venue for a wedding. Everything was perfect. Brandi and her staff did an amazing job and were so friendly and helpful. Anything you wanted or needed they would do. I would definitely recommend this venue for a wedding or any other event you might want. Shame on you El Rio management for not letting us know what pitiful shape your course is in. We played last week on 4/29/15. It wouldn't let me give 0 or negative stars or I would have. This is easily the worst course (condition) I've ever played in my 30+ years of playing golf. Half of the greens were aerated. In April ?!?! NONE of the fairways were green at all. I understand that in the middle of the summer, the blazing heat does a number on the greens, but it's April !!! If they were just brown, it might have been okay, but they had potholes. The bunkers needed to be called "rock quarries". I wish I had a single positive thing to say about this course. It needs to be closed down. Any muni course in the world is in PRIME PGA Tournament condition compared to this course. $50 to play this ?!?! Very sad ! read more

This has to be the worst golf course in Mohave County or maybe the State of Arizona, My wife and I played on Monday 1/20/16 and payed $90.00 as locals and was a complete rip off. We played this course a year ago after the bank had it and it is in worse shape now that the home owners own it. The course desk person could only say he was sorry, No refund or future play when this course is playable.The course is dead and the greens are in horrible condition. This not a course any real golfer would want to play at any price period. We will never go back to this facility again. A real shame because when JJ was the pro it was a nice place to play.
