When I first starting going to Riverview after my first knee replacement I expected it to be like every other PT place I have ever been. In other words, I anticipated leaving in more pain than before I got there. However, nothing could be further from the truth. My therapist, Derek, took the time to explain the exercises to me and then completely demonstrated how to perform them. He stayed with me to make sure I was executing them correctly. And best of all, if it hurt (in unexpected way) he had me stop, and found another exercise to obtain results. Months later I went back after the second knee replacement. I found my recovery was ahead of what was expected, I believe in large part due to the exercises I had been doing for the first knee. My range of motion has completely returned in both knees. For which I credit Derek greatly. I have suffered with back pain since I was a child and seen many physical therapists over the years which only caused increased pain. I turned to Derek for therapy on my back. I am post double lumbar fusion. I was once again given on point exercises, which were explained to me fully and demonstrated thoroughly until I could do them on my own. Although I still have pain, I have a home exercise program which I know will give me relief, and allows me to get out and do things I haven't done for years (i.e. work). I can't thank Derek enough, he's the best! Additionally, Beth who takes care of insurance issues and schedules patient visits is great at her job and very pleasant to deal with, and always greets you with a smile. I had a wonderful experience with Riverside PT in Windham this summer. I worked with Nancy Crawford and Jodi Mitchell to address my post surgical rehab and foot pain concerns. Jodi Mitchell is absolutely wonderful to work with! She is a positive and thoughtful person who is very knowledgeable and professional. She provided a seamless transition and created a good action plan to target my concerns. Jodi provided relief and helped heal areas that were uncomfortable and painful post surgery. I enjoyed the different strengthening, mobility and balance exercises I was given. The staff at the Windham location are all wonderful to work with! The front desk are super helpful and friendly! I personally did not work 1:1 with Derek, but he added to the fun room dynamic and would often be laughing with his patients while encouraging them! Riverview Physical Therapy in Windham Maine is all that an excellent therapy location should be. The facility is intimate so that one gets to know all of the therapists well. The staff is beyond excellent. They are knowledgeable, kind , caring and take time to get to know each patient. They use a hands on approach in addition to teaching how to do exercises at home. The place Is spotless And the equipment well cared for. Derek, the manager accurately diagnosed my hip issue and systematically worked to eliminate My pain. Derek at Riverview Physical Therapy in Windham was great to work with! My daughter went through a rapid growth spurt and was experiencing knee pain. Derek was extremely knowledgeable and got right to the root of the problem. He kept PT fun and sent us home with everything we needed to keep the ball rolling at home on our own.
