One of my favorite things is the little group of regulars who come during the week around 6 p.m., especially when the sun starts to go down and it cools off. The park provides poop bags, making it easy to clean up after your pup, and it's fun watching the big dogs play from the other side. The large dog area is definitely bigger, but the small dog side has been perfect for us. Overall, we've really enjoyed coming here and look forward to many more visits!

We have been having issues with burrs in our backyard getting stuck in her curly fur (she is a goldendoodle) and he took care of that for me. Now we are set for the summer, and I don't have to worry about digging out burrs on a daily basis. This service makes it so convenient for our family. I'm not sure how long it's been called "Candleverde," but it got the sign with that name (a portmanteau of Candlewood and Palo Verde, which intersect there) only a few years ago. There used to be a concrete playground there that looked like it was made of terra cotta, but it disappeared not long before they put in the new sign. The park is essentially a triangular strip of land with a few trees and several high tension towers, buzzing wires hanging over the lawn below. The wires also run over the community garden (on Candlewood across from the park) and the bonsai tree nursery on Palo Verde. You hardly ever see anyone here. Short of people cutting across it while walking their dogs, I don't think I've seen anyone here for any other reason.

While I understand that puppies can be nervous in a new environment, what happened during his visit was much more concerning to me. An employee physically handled Obie while he was visibly scared and uncomfortable. I did not feel that the way she handled him was appropriate, and as his owner, it was extremely upsetting to watch. What made it even more concerning was that she was turned around at one point rather than actively watching and supervising the dogs. I understand that employees have multiple dogs to watch, but when an employee is supposed to be interviewing a new puppy and their temperament, I would expect that interaction to be closely supervised and handled with care. I had specifically explained that Obie was nervous and was told he would be eased into the environment, which made what I witnessed even more disappointing. My concern is not that Obie was nervous or that he needed time to adjust. My concern is specifically how an employee chose to physically handle him when he was clearly uncomfortable. I have screen recordings from the daycare cameras documenting what happened, so this review is based on what I personally witnessed and have recorded, not simply my interpretation of how the visit went. I would expect a daycare entrusted with people's dogs to prioritize gentle, patient, and appropriate handling, especially with a young puppy who is already scared. Unfortunately, after witnessing how Obie was treated, I left feeling very uncomfortable with the experience.

That was a pleasant surprise. The park itself and bathrooms were pretty clean. You might want to bring your own grill cleaner and table cloths.
