I went in for my first time today and here's what I learned if you're new too!…read more Birdy is the woman working there, she's a sweet sweet elderly woman wearing an apron. If you have questions just ask-- she's really helpful. Today (a Thursday) she said she's there until 4. You'll need to buy a laundry card if you're going to do the laundry yourself. (it costs $1) and to load money on the card it's cash only also. The machines for this are all the way in the back on the right. If you're using the wash/dry/fold service, talk to Birdy. She'll go over pricing with you, and if you bring your stuff in early enough (she told me before 1pm or so) that she could have everything done same day if I didn't have tons of stuff. I dropped off 3 bags and she was able to do it. She even took out a few things before drying that she thought might shrink. so awesome. Check the pricing on all the machines before you choose one. The larger ones are pretty expensive so if you're just doing a smaller load, make sure to use a small washer. For the dryers- the one I used (an XL one) for a washable rug. It was 25 cents per 4 minutes. After you stick your card and choose the setting and click start, you can reinsert your card as many times as you want to keep adding time to the initial 4 minutes. I had a great experience and I hope this was helpful!

Used the dryer today, same one that I've used before, spent $1.75 and waited 35 minutes, clothes were as damp as they were when they went in. Left a note in the box, put a note on the dryer that it doesn't work and went to the office, but no one was there. Called the number listed, left a message and no one bothers to call me back. Have contacted the owner by email and get no response, have filed with the AG office and found that another laundromat is about 1/2 the cost for washer and the dryers are cheaper and get a longer amount of time (and actually work). Never going to this one again!

I put all this in a concise, polite note that also included my contact info, yet in those 23 days there has been NO RESPONSE. I have now left a second note. And am now doing my laundry in Athol, at least till this matter gets resolved. I don't care so much about losing $1.75, but I do care about being ignored as a customer. So the laundry won't reimburse me a measly $1.75, but then loses a regular customer??? This seems to be a stupid move for a local business to make. I really hope the matter is resolved soon. As I said, it's been 23 days now! Once it's resolved I'll remove this review, as I've had no issues till now.

The point of this review is to publicly tell the owners to clean their disgusting laundromat. The…read morecustomers use this establishment out if NECESSITY and it's beyond shameful that the owners let it become so filthy and unsanitary. Most laundromats forbid the washing of rubber backed rugs and pet beds and I have ALWAYS watched people come in to do just that. (Washing your clothing is washers that have been filled with pet urine is very unsettling) While I understand they can't control what the public does when it's unmanned, but they CAN clean. They just don't. CLEAN YOUR MACHINES. The washers are FILTHY and filled with pet hair and mold. The dryers barely function properly and the lint traps are so caked on, they would have to be soaked to come clean. The bathroom is a nightmare and the waiting area is filled with disgusting, shredded and stained furniture. What a shame. These owners obviously have no pride in their ownership and this faculty shouldn't be allowed in this condition in such a beautiful town as Shelburne Falls. A real shame.

If you live in the hill towns, you either have a washing machine, are planning to take your clothes…read moredown to the river to beat them against a rock, or you're going to go to this place. It's the only laundry in the area. It's hard for me to give five stars to a laundromat. There is nothing wrong with it. I just hate doing laundry, and I hate going to a laundromat. It could be a whole lot worse, I suppose. They are open from about 6 am to 10 pm. The machines only take quarters, but they have a machine that will make change. It's about $4 to $4.50 to use a machine, but the machines are huge. They probably hold about 2-3 loads of laundry. Mercifully, they have an excellent wireless connection, much better than any other place in town. On the other hand, the location is pretty good. You could start your wash, go get lunch down the street. Then come back and throw everything in the dryer. This is Shelburne Falls. I once left my cell phone plugged into the wall to recharge, forgot about it, came back later and it was exactly where I left it. Try doing that in New York (actually, no one in New York wants my phone either).
