We have been to many other liquor stores in the past week so he can try new things out, me carrying for him due to his limitations. They greeted us as we walked in and he became so excited when he saw this new alcohol he wanted to try. Well... he picked his flavors and I simply carried it not even 5 steps to the front counter. Upon cash-out they inquired both of our ID's, but since I didn't have one to show they said we were unable to buy because I simply carried the beverages to the counter... even though my boyfriend is unable to carry them himself and there were no carts or carry-containers for him to even attempt to carry them by himself. The woman behind the counter stated that we should've told her and she should've grabbed it for us and we were out of luck. We had to wait 10 minutes in our car and he had to come back into the store by himself. Keep in mind we had been to 4 other liquor stores with no issues. People can obviously see that I'm simply carrying on his behalf. What a waste of time and very discriminatory if you ask me. You can make exceptions when you don't have accommodations for handicapped individuals.
