This is by far the nicest park! The park is located on the Nolichucky River with beautiful long and wide sites. The owners and staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Bathrooms and laundry are cleaned several times a day. Firewood and ice are delivered directly to your site upon request. While here we had an Uncle pass away. My sister in law from Pennsylvania was able to rent one of the themed campers instead of staying at a hotel. She enjoyed her stay and we are planning a family get together here in the future. We don't have small children with us at this time but the playground is inviting. The attention to detail at this KOA is awesome!

I had a really difficult day that day. We had bad storms and we don't live far from the campground, a couple hours south, but between the storm that not down a tree in our yard, I helped clean up and struggling with my diabetes, and then as I was driving North, a bad lightning storm I wasn't getting any service. I didn't know what to do or where to go. I ended up not spending the night after all, but I can say that communications were wonderful and the facility is beautiful. I did my research before I made a reservation for myself and I was going alone and I haven't been anywhere by myself in 10 years especially since I've become disabled so I ended up having to make other accommodations for the night and didn't get the pleasure of this visit but hopefully there's gonna be something open this weekend and I couldn't have Astro better communication. I can't. I did try to communicate late at night in late into the evening, but they do close their office at five and because of struggles with my diabetes which they have to be dealt with. I can't help that and then the storms here I got a very late start and once I was on my way, and I ran into this lightning storm I had no reception and no visibility. My GPS wasn't working correctly with no reception and this is also in an area that was affected by hurricane Helene and there was flash flooding warnings on the way up to the campground so I did what was the safest best thing for me but I just wanted to say that the prices are wonderful and fair. The facilities is beautiful. The family is kind and very communicative and I will definitely update if we are able to get a spot there this weekend so that our family can go and going with My Husband. I won't have the inability to take care of everything on my Own due to my unique situation so we'll actually make it this time lol I would highly recommend and also I did make it up there the following morning for my getaway and we were all talking about the lightning storm at a couple of places that I went and I was saying what it happened and I didn't make it to my destination where I was gonna stay and everybody that was local was like oh that's the best one out of all of the campgrounds around here if you come back, you need to stay there for sure you missed out and even though you couldn't help it, you know they're an awesome family and they have the nicest place so I did have a good word from local people too, so I'm gonna get a highly recommend for now. I was greeted by a couple sitting in the rocking chairs on the porch. I think the winding road up the mountain and the driveway helped me realize how secluded this place is. There are only nine sites that are spaced far enough apart that you think you're the only person here! Each site is different than the others. The fire pits are amazing. You have to check them out for yourself! There are creeks everywhere. You can hear the water from every site (that's if you're not in a site next to one. Then you can see them also). There was thought put in to making each site spectacular. There are picnic tables, pads for tents, trees and posts for hammocks and awesome fire pits. There are hiking trails that lead up the mountain and into the Cherokee National Forest and around the property. You need to walk them to experience the beauty and the spectacular views! The bath house is like a large bathroom that feels like home! They even have blow dryers here to use! There are two sinks for dishes along with scrubbies and dish soap! The bath house or the camp store both have electrical outlets if you need to recharge batteries for your lights. Don't charge your phone! There's no need for that as a distraction! I will be back!

But THIS one, this one is different from most. There are only a handful of campsites, but the experience is what I imagine would be how campgrounds "should" be before commercial ones started popping up, and laying campsites on top on one another to maximize profit. Yes the commercial ones also brought along nice amenities such as clean bathhouses and electrical connections to keep up with what folks in general expect these days... and that's when locally owned campgrounds had to follow suit or risk going out of business. Here... it goes back to how it was. No electrical connections. Privacy. Views. Isolation. A connection with true nature without having to hike miles and miles with 40+ lbs of gear. The camp store is based on a honor system, you get what you need 24/7. If nobody is there just jot down what you grabbed and it will be billed to you. It is packed with lots of custom made locally goodies, along with standard necessities (first aid, bug repellent, hygiene stuff, snacks, etc) and are priced too low!!! The bathhouse. The bathhouse. Oh man, talk about putting thought into it. Feels just like my own mountain getaway... in my imagination of course because I don't really have a mountain getaway. Well I do now, except I don't really own it. That doesn't stop me from wishing I had own it though. Anyway, this review is already way too long. I guess that's what a great camping trip can do to you. It brings out the peacefulness in you, and make you so content that you want to write a novel about it. I'm not recommending this place to all. I'm just recommending it to those that truly enjoy camping... and nature with only the things we need and absolutely nothing that we don't. Peace!

Vega brought us bundles of firewood and checks in frequently. The campground is pristine and fully forested making it a true camping experience. It is small with 32 spaces and a bathhouse, with no pool or playground amenities. Shopping laundromat and restaurants are close by in Unicoi and Erwin. Lots of things to do in the area with hiking and rafting. We booked for 6 months at a very reasonable all-inclusive rate and will be very comfortable and happy here.

Hands down this is one of the best camp grounds I have ever been to! Can't wait to come back here…read moremany times! The owner is great and the host (Mike) is beyond amazing! We've been camping there for 8 years and love it more each time we go. The camper spots are very spacious and C1-C3 are completely shaded. C3 is the best by far! But you have to book early because C3 is very popular! Some things to know before you go! They do not have water hookups at the sites - you fill your camper tank with water at the office area. They have spots with electric hookups. They have a dump station where you can empty your tanks on your way out. This is a simple & beautiful campground. There are trails to walk/hike, mountain view to see, bathhouse with 3 bathroom/showers, and one with just a bathroom. This is by far the cleanest bathhouse I have ever seen. They show great attention to this campground and make sure all their campers are happy. You can also purchase wood at the office. There are a few t-shirts for sale at the office, as well. If you haven't checked it out, you are truly missing out! This is a great place with great people!
