Tour started at the entrance and we went to notable spots. We were only 7 in the tour. Our tour guide Doug who has been doing it for 14 seasons was very knowledgeable. He shared interesting facts, architectural/art styles, history of people and places/Richmond. We saw the iron dog, graves of the 2 US presidents (John Monroe's Tomb and John Tyler's Monument), Lewis Ginter Mausoleum, Palmer Chapel Mausoleum (and the overlooks on its sides), among others. It was a nice tour. I learned a lot. If you plan to go there on your own, there's a map from the website that you can download and use where there are markers for the notable spots. Google Maps does not have these spots in it. The restroom can be found on the left shortly after entering the cemetery. Lewis Ginter Mausoleum shows Victorian era architecture. When you peek through the door, you would see the nice Tiffany glass artwork behind. With its history, nice views overlooking the James River, the peaceful and quiet environment, this is a place worth checking out.

This is one of the most clean, organized, and friendly libraries I've ever been to. The staff is…read morehelpful and friendly, there are multiple computer areas for work, study, etc. Just yesterday one of the computer rooms held host to a computer lesson on word usage. I come here for tutoring and the parking lot is always clean, and even though the elevators occasionally go out, they're usually back up quickly.

It can be a little overwhelming as there isn't really a rhyme or reason to the arrangement of the books. They also have a few toys and interactive play areas as well. The adult section is a little bland. The books are dated. I often have to have books delivered from another Library because they usually don't have it here. They do have a large magazine area with comfy oversized chairs. This library is outdated in comparison to its sister location at Atlee and could benefit from a refresh. The librarians are always super friendly and willing to help.

We only ventured to their children's section that is offset from the library. Their storytime is wonderful, the lady who reads the books to the children does a wonderful job, she is very engaged. She reads about 3 books based upon a theme and at the end the children do a related craft, very cute! The children's area itself is very nice, their are several computers for children to learn/play complete when headphones. Several areas for them to sit and read and lots of toys/gadgets, very nice. As much as I loved this place the first time I expected my second visit to be just as wonderful. Unfortunately, we missed storytime due to a mix up in time but my friend and I decided to let our children stay in the children's area. After an hour someone from the library came to us and asked us if we could be a little quieter. Seriously?! Yes, this is a library but we are in the children's section and if children laughing is a bother why attempt to cater to young children, needless to say, we left shortly after. Overall this is a nice library with many activities for families during the week and the weekend! Story time is amazing!

They always have tons of stamps to choose from whereas many other post offices run out of the cutesy ones! The parking is easy and plentiful, especially if you go there around 11:00 am! The best thing, though,... and I hate to tell you because I feel like this is my personal mail secret, but there are seldom any lines! I think it's because it's behind a major road and it's hugger-mugger... shhhh, let's keep this between us for all of our mailing needs!! The people there were louder than necessary. Talking as if they were at home. Listening to music on the headphones attached to the computer but so loud everyone could hear. Then the librarians try to ask the people to be quiet and that doesn't work. This library is minutes from home but convenience isn't worth the noise and chaos.

The Colonial Heights library has a…read morefree wifi that was easy to connect and was quite speedy for a few quiet Zoom calls and emails and even a Yelp review or two. I would call this "medium-sized" for a library. Plenty of stacks of fiction and non-fiction with a large collection of periodicals and reference materials. A few staff moving about. The library is quiet and I found a good spot in a corner with a study carrel that had power nearby. No one disturbed me and that's about as good as it gets.
