With that said, I'm not a proper resident of the neighborhood. I don't belong to the HOA, and I'm not eligible to access the swimming pool or tennis courts (as far as I understand it!). This is not terribly surprising, given the fact that it's a pool in the middle of the neighborhood, but it just feels so...open! My daughter is always interested in seeing the parts we're not allowed to see. She looks at them all the time on the school bus going in and out of school. So what that leaves us to access is the playground. Frankly, it's not great. The Oak Hills Elementary playground is a stone's throw away and WAY better...in terms of quality, openness, and monkey bar variety, and whatever other criteria you can think of to rate a playground. I suspect that if I were a proper resident of the Oak Hills neighborhood, I'd rate this more highly. I suspect that the pool is fun and the tennis is a delight. I'm just bummed that I'm not allowed to find out.

I went to the waterfront in years past, and the teenagers were drinking and swearing, and in comparison, Oak Hills is head over heels better than the Waterfront. I liked that you can sit up close to the fireworks, and can appreciate all the work that goes into the firework show. I will definitely plan to go there in future years.

The bathrooms are always clean and once you figure out what is the best time for you to attend, you can get in an easy groove and attend on a regular basis without any hassle there's plenty of room to do whatever you wanna do here lots of space and lots of options. The pool is exceptional. The hot tub is great. The exercise areas are amazing and the indoor walking trail is really amazing in the winter if you want to stretch out and stay dry, we use it all year because my husband is blind and it's the safest place for him to walk. We really appreciate all the amenities here they are very handicap friendly and the staff is exceptional. We love coming here

That's why I'm obsessed with this new find in the Southwest community! This neighborhood community center has cool activities like two indoor pools. One is designated for laps- 9 feet deep and the other includes a wading pool with slide, up to 4 ft and 6 inches at the deepest. I also love that there is a shower and lockers open for use so you can clean up before heading to the pool. The kids seem to absolutely love it - there are tons of other families with little ones. Open pool time is ~ 2-4pm, go early so you can get in. There's a capacity limit, our visit happened to be 75. If want to make it, BE THERE EARLY. Can not stress this enough. It is not the staff's fault if you can not get in. There are standards for a reason. You do not want to be cooped up in a space where it can not accommodate for more than what's expected. You also want to keep in mind that there are lifeguards to look out for everyone's safety and well being, so please be mindful of that as well! There are also other parts of the center to enjoy, such as an indoor basketball gym, rollerskating sessions, aqua aerobics, gym, and even dancing. It's the perfect blend of family-friendly fun and adult-approved relaxation. If you're looking for a place with a strong sense of community, stunning scenery, and a pool that's basically its own mini-vacation destination, then this is your spot! Totally recommend it! P.S. Although the location is gorgeous: it's right on a beautiful river, there's tons of natural beauty and scenic views of the Coast range mountains, I was MOST impressed by the friendliness of the staff and the quality of the food, which was absolutely scrumptious at every meal and did the best job accommodating the dietary needs of EVERYONE in attendance. I feel very safe and taken care of, and I enjoy that the facilities are cleaned and well maintained throughout the duration of the day. Staff are ahead of the cleanliness before the public comes to mention things around the areas. Snacks are great, lots of options and allergen friendly things. The pools are very nice and I enjoy that their lifeguards on duty and extremely vigilant.

This center was a great idea but falls short. The building…read moreis beautiful. Nice pool. Large gym. Unfortunately the building was crammed in to fit on the lot and you can tell by the layout of the center and the amenities that are lacking. On top of that there is not enough parking.

We met an employee at the swimming pool named Matthew. He is a lifeguard who provided exceptional…read moreservice. As my grandson said, "that worker is kind". Coming from a 7 yr old, that was a genuine description of how he felt. Matthew went beyond the call to offer excellent service to my grandson who learned a valuable life's lesson, and that is to treat everyone, even strangers with kindness. I hope LORAC Admin sees this and recognizes the service Matthew and others have demonstrated. Thank you Matthew, you are an asset to LORAC! This Recreation Center is by far an amazing facility, compared to others like it. It was a clean and the different sections and gyms are also well kept. From the front staff to the personnel throughout the premises, Customer Service is at its highest.
