I had a very disappointing experience with Miquel Smith / RiverSide Landscaping and do not recommend this contractor. Before booking, I provided clear and detailed information about the job: exterior window cleaning at a specific height, cleaning a chandelier at the same height, and changing the lightbulbs. Miquel's initial communication with me was very quick, responding quickly to secure the job with me. We agreed on a price and a specific arrival window of 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. At 12:00 p.m., Miquel messaged to say he was running late and ultimately did not arrive until 2:10 p.m. Before work began, I again walked Miquel through the job and physically showed him the window and chandelier. At that point, he said he could clean the window but could only dust the chandelier (using our mop) and could not change the lightbulbs, despite having agreed to this in advance. This was disappointing, but since they had a tall ladder, I asked whether he and his helper could install a very simple bicycle pulley system in our garage. I showed it to him first, he agreed, and we settled on a new price to complete the revised window work plus pulley installation work. When the window and chandelier work was finished, I noticed overspray all over the wall and floor below. Miquel's helper returned to clean it, but only after I pointed out what was missed, coached him through it, and provided a clean bucket of hot water and clean rags myself. The bicycle pulley installation proved far more challenging than it should have been. I had to correct and coach them and ask that things be done properly. I paid them in full, cash. They left at dusk, while it was getting dark. The next day, it was clear the work was not done correctly: * The high-up window was still dirty, with visible streaks and drips * A lower window, which I had not asked them to clean and which had been clean, was now filthy and streaked * The bicycle pulley system was incorrectly installed, leaving the safety mechanism non-functional * There were 2 small spills of cleaning product on the stairs. I cleaned them up. I messaged Miquel with photos and video documenting these issues and asked him to return and fix the problems. He replied over a day later with information about the cleaning product he used, showed zero accountability, and made no offer to correct the work. I followed up again five days later, no response, and still nothing at the time of this review. Ghosting us & not owning up to errors, speaks volumes about this "company". Between the late arrival, incomplete and incorrect work, damage/overspray, and complete lack of follow-up or accountability, this experience was extremely frustrating, disappointing and certainly not "doing the right thing".
