This is really a great option for those in Indy. Close to downtown areas and it is has inside and outside bays. Inside bays are heated, so that helps out before after the real season. Cost is extremely cheap and they have a 3 par course. This is reasonably priced and helps a lot with chipping and shots! Loved the greens and the trees throughout. They take very good care of the place. Inside, is older. There are options for drinks and a simulator that can be rented. The only bad thing to say is that the inside does have a musty smell and this past week when I was in, it smelled like weed inside which was definitely a turn off. The bays are clean and there are options for training with a separate training room. I had used Ali in the past but moved to another facility for more in-depth training. Overall, this is one that is near my work, so easy to get in and out and parking is never an issue. Generally there are enough bays that you don't have to worry about space. read more

I don't have much to compare this to because I've really never been to another range. But my experiences here have always been great. I've never played the 9 holes. Staff was very friendly. They've got both covered and uncovered bays, as well as some that you can tee just off the grass. Prices are very reasonable too it seems. They offer lessons as well as other services such as regripping and seem to have a good selection of merchandise. This is my favorite place to practice my golf game. Good to brand new range balls, fair prices for the range and beautiful practice chipping and putting areas. The par 3 course is tight and forces you to hit your shots straight. Nice layout and the greens on the par 3 are very nice. Can't complain about the price to play the par 3 either, only $10! The parking lot is newly paved and you don't have to dodge potholes anymore! Riverside is a real GEM. read more

If you are looking for a nice location to practice without all of the snobbery, try here. Prices are great on the budget through military tee times if you are in the military. After practicing at Riverside for a year I still like practicing here. Everyone is encouraging and remind you to practice at home too which is a nice reminder that it does take practice to get better and better. They also have a variety of golf gear for sale and they have discounted pricing on used items which is great if you are starting to play or need some extra gear. Check out the clearance shoe table. Good place to practice and reasonably priced for buckets of balls. A lot of driving ranges have gone up a lot but Riverside is still the best bargain. A decent pitch and putt 9- hole course good to practice the short game and get some exercise. They also just added two simulators. So why the three stars. Well it's kind of old. Some of the greens are not in good shape. The practice pitching area needs some help. I would recommend but it's nothing to be real impressed with like it was when it first opened. I grew up around Riverside and remembered when ALL of the golf courses there were some of the best in Indy. I hope the simulators bring must needed revenue to the area. read more

$8 for 75 balls to pelt at to ease my stress/anger? I'm down. It was quiet (minus the I-65 traffic whizzing behind me) and peaceful and a nice looking practice facility despite being bordered by I-65 and almost downtown. I was disappointed I couldn't hit the target despite being SO close! This place serves me well as the closest golf course to downtown itself, and I can't wait to return back to play the short course in the near future, or ::gasp:: play the "big kid" course across the road. read more

I just started playing golf and this is a great place to start. They have reasonable prices on the range although the grass where you can hit is roped and a little narrow in my opinion. It's moving closer and closer to the poles so I think the yard estimates are inaccurate and could be better demarcated. They have a par 3, 9 hole which is a great place to start. It's a bit worn and not a country club, but if you want to get away and hit some balls (hehe) this is the place to go. It's affordable for a large bucket of balls. What once use to be a very good place to hit some balls at the range, go on a nice par 3 course or get some lessons has gone down the drain. Walked in with just my driver to hit balls and practice. Bought a medium size bucket(90 balls) for $9 and walked out to hit. Only to find all the bays not having the rubber tees to hit drives off of and walked back in to then be told I had to buy tees. 90 tees, I'll pass. Wasted $9 and hope that goes to help them get better again. read more

The Riverside Golf Academy is a nice place to practice your driving. It was $7 for about 60 balls. It's $15 for about 150 balls. My only complaint is not enough places to drive. The outdoor range was roped off for some reason. The sheltered was ok, but the people walking behind you will distract you when you are trying to swing. It's the closest driving range to downtown Indy. read more

Great heated driving range. However mats were old and many of them didn't have tees. But this time of year it was nice to have the heat.

This place was okay, but not great. I think you should get a few more balls for 8$ but thats just me. It is true that most of the mats do not have tees, but I prefer hitting on grass and the grass area was nice to hit at. You can play the course for the same 8$, but this place has a few issues. First, the course is too short for my tastes. I'm not great, but I like to be able to pick different clubs and work on my distance but most of the holes were 75-110 yds. Not enough variety, for me personally. I would add an extra 20-40 yards behind the tees to mix my club selection. I also dont think some of the yardages were accurate. Next, the tee boxes are in a weird order and it's easy to get lost so make sure you take a scorecard. Last is due to the time of year, its easy to lose your ball in all the fall leaves. This last thing is not their fault really, but be prepared. I think this place is nice but I think the course is a little too short, so if I need to hit range balls on grass then this place is great but the course was less impressive. Next time, I might skip the Academy and go to the Riverside Golf Course for more challenging holes. read more
