The coffee machine in the juror lounge doesn't work and there wasn't any food in the vending machine except a lonely carton of coconut water. There is a stairs to get to the second floor but I only noticed elevators to get to the third. Isn't that a safety hazard?

My CONFIDENTIAL Declaration was frozen on the public server of one of the first Smart Cities...then breached in the Courthouse database. I'm sure it was also breached by other Smart Cities worldwide wide. There weren't too many at that time. 2012 Riverside was actually awarded The City of Intelligence award. I even used the Self Help Center ... that's where my document was breached at. All of my personal information, petition & declaration were frozen for ~45 mins on that public server and I requested they contact IT. Who was the AG and Lt Governor at that time? Harris and Newsom.

From what I personally witnessed, it felt as though the scales of justice were tipped heavily toward one side. During the proceedings, the prosecution appeared to receive more consideration, while certain matters the defense attempted to address were shut down. At one point, when the defense attempted to discuss information concerning the victim, Judge Yang stated, "we're not bringing that up." I understand that Judge Yang may have had legal or evidentiary reasons for limiting what could be discussed, and I am not claiming that any laws or ethical rules were violated. I can only speak about what I personally witnessed and how the proceedings appeared to me as an observer. Regardless of which side of a case someone is on, a courtroom should leave the public confident that both sides were heard and treated fairly. Unfortunately, my experience in Judge Yang's courtroom did not leave me with that confidence. The scales of justice should feel balanced for everyone. Contreras didn't get a fair trial. Victims family works at this court house!

And I went down there in person so I could have it in hand when I left there great place unlike so many government agencies where you feel hurried or pressured by angry staff that don't really want to answer another stupid question thankfully I didn't have any stupid questions.. Again very impressed with the modern system. Everything's computerized you go over to the computer stations you type in your information what you are requesting and then you head back over and you wait for them to call you up really straightforward really easy the girl who gave me my certified copy was so sweet and we joked around a little bit. Always nice to have that personal touch when you're dealing with the government agency. The whole process was easy and seamless, finished quickly, jumped in my car and I was on my way.

The security are friendly and helpful. The employees here were all very friendly. The traffic department was closed on the day we went which was the due date but the lady working in a different department. Said she noted the account and that we could come back on Tuesday with no penalty. We came back to take care of the ticket and the young lady who helped us. Helped us to set up a trail date to clear the ticket as it was a fix it ticket. To our surprise it wasn't that bad. It's just that people get tickets and hate it lol So no wonder for the bad reviews but it's not the courts fault. So they get 5 star's for working fast, being friendly, and helpful.

But this document did not even prove this. The defendant claimed to have never received anything from me of this nature...but there it is, clear as day in his own pleadings for sanctions for non-compliance with discovery. Attached is the stamp from when I sent the 'motion to strike' regarding discovery sanctions that were ignored and rejected for no known reason. They also asked for fees that were not owed. Judge Joseph Ortiz's tentative ruling was a joke as he thinks $5,195 in cash for 1 day of tow storage is a fair price and ignores that punitive damages for violation of the Consumer Legal Remedies Act is a thing...Don't come here. It is as bad as it looks.

I do want to give them a huge shout out for employeeing people with special needs in the family law division, that is very admirable of them. There are so many inefficiencies in the system. I don't think the government system takes feedback or makes process improvements, but hopefully this review helps someone with their Jury Duty experience. At this courthouse, you receive a summons and you actually have to CALL 5pm the day prior to check if you need to physically come in. Considering they made me go online and fill in all this stuff, why can't I check some status online? If you have to report in person, the dress code is business casual. Although I feel like a lot of people were way more casual casual and they weren't sent home to change like the threat on the phone. In the room where the potential jurors meet, we were told to listen to a video but the TVs were unevenly distributed and the audio was awful. Then when we were suppose to find ourselves on these lists, the names were written in a thin white font that was hard to read. A lot of do this and wait, do this and wait. During one of my breaks I went to the restroom on first floor and it really needs renovations. No automated/sensors. In the women's bathroom on 1st 2 out of 4 sinks were broken. Then I made the mistake of getting a snack at the café inside the courthouse. Since they have no competition and they're the only option, they get to be slow inefficient and burn your food... in my case burnt my food twice. It was also so hectic as they didn't take names down, they just called out the type of order, so if multiple people ordered the same thing they all go up and look confused. I waited for ever for them to call me back saying they forgot what I ordered... Then it was burnt. I came back... They remade it... Burnt again. Pointless. I didn't have time to deal with them a third time. On a more positive note, this is the furthest I made it along in the jury selection process. I won't give any detail to maintain the confidentiality but I can say they ask questions to make sure there are no conflict of interest or strong biases that would negatively affect either parties. It was nice to see the justice system at work. Obviously the Jury Duty experience is a civic duty, but the courthouse really need some renovations to make the jury experience less awful.

I arrived on time, went through security, checked in, and proceeded to the jury assembly room. After waiting for several minutes, we were told that the start time had been pushed back to 9:00 AM. A short time later, another announcement was made that it would be pushed back to 10:45 AM. When 10:45 came and went, we were then informed that the start time had been pushed back again -- this time to 1:30 PM. We were also told that we could leave the building but were required to return by 1:30 PM. This experience shows a serious lack of consideration for people's time, responsibilities, families, and livelihoods. Many people cannot simply spend an entire workday sitting around waiting with no clear information. Some of us have jobs where missing hours means losing income, and not everyone can afford that. I understand that court proceedings can be unpredictable and that delays happen. However, there needs to be better communication, organization, and consideration for the people being asked to serve. People are making arrangements, missing work, paying for childcare, and rearranging their lives to fulfill a civic responsibility. The jury system depends on people showing up and doing their part. The court system should show the same level of respect for the people who are being asked to serve. Today's experience has left me feeling that the system is seriously broken when it comes to respecting the time and circumstances of ordinary people.

They DON'T answer in a timely manner as they claim, literally waited, just to be asked the SAME question after I ALREADY told them my case number and then kore waiting for their response AGAIN. I swea, it's like they DON'T want to do their jobs. It's like they really don't want me to sue the other party at all. They want to wait until the DAY OF the court date to tell me I need to be reprocessed because of the TINIEST detail. So lovely.
