For sometime I could not find the time of service for this particular church, and whenever I would…read morecall I wouldn't get an answer, I also would check their Facebook and then I wouldn't see anything current. So I gave things a rest and a break; and on May 20th, I Revisited their Facebook page and there was an actual digital flyer for women's day May 21st !! It had two guest female pastors, both from New Hope Baptist Church, one in East Orange and one in Newark, along with praise dance and all sorts of beautiful Christian things. So My very first time as a visitor at First Baptist Church of Nutley was women's day May 21st, 2017. Of course as a newcomer into a new church, you never know the kind of reaction you are going to receive and I say this because I have had not so good experiences in other Baptist Churches. But once I entered into the church, I was greeted by the some members, deacons and the deaconesses and especially welcomed by the Pastor. And ever since then, I continually came early, courtesy of the man of the year, Deacon Bobby. So early that I had breakfast, attend Sunday school for adults and also the 11 a.m. service. In my own personal experience, despite my career despite my level of Education, I have had trials and tribulations for many years of my life and even currently. And with every song that was sung, with every word that was preached, with every chapter read in the Bible, with every Sunday school reading- I personally felt the message was directed towards me; because each word or message applied to my life whether past, present or future. And with each and every service or gathering or Sunday School, my spirit was lifted and I was filled with joy. I was rejuvenated in Christ and I was encouraged, which then increased my faith and had me craving more. And because of that experience and because everyone has been so loving and so welcoming to me and everybody was just excited about me being there and everybody wanted me to join. Everyone kept asking, when is Tiffany going to join? My confirmation to join, my confirmation that this is my church home, was through every message I received from the Sunday school, the Bible scriptures and the word being delivered by a deacon or pastor or a singer who is singing a message that needs to be heard; and especially the love that I received from all the members that I have been in contact with; everyone welcomed me with open arms and it felt like this is home. This is where God wants me to serve. I feel so blessed and grateful that I finally found the church time (11am. Next sunday 10am), but even more grateful that I found a church home that excites me everytime I come and it's always something I look forward to attending on Sunday. I feel so uplifted and encourage and full of the Holy Spirit and it feels like it's helping me build a closer relationship with God and I am craving more wisdom and knowledge of my walk in Christianity. I am blessed for everyone welcoming me into this church family and I encourage you to visit this church and experience what I have, because the spirit is in the church and you will be blessed by the word. And did I mention my pastor can sing his butt off ? direct the choir ? My pastor can do it all through Christ! He is amazing and he tells it straight. He keeps it real and is not ashamed or embarrassed about his testimony. He shares all the time. And that shows great leadership and humility. Amen.

This is the place I decided to give my life to God and accept him as my savior. The Pastors, Anthony and Patricia Ventola are warm, humble people that accept you as you are. They are very involved in the church and like to know their patrons one on one. They are always available if you need to vent, need prayer or need general advice. I will admit , this is a bit of an old fashioned church. They don't particularly tackle the issues of today's younger generation (love, sex, dating in the age of yelp, money etc) however, they are very understanding of their demographic and try to cater to all. It is mostly an older crowd but all nationalities come to this church. They have a lot of different activities that are within the church such as Men of Vision ( a men's bible study group), Heart to Heart (a women's bible study group) , Sold Out Youth ( a youth group), dinners and events. Another plus is that they have a children's section with trustworthy babysitters from the church that take care of the toddlers while the main service is going on. Overall, it has been my spiritual home for a while and I suggest everyone visit!
