If you value financial transparency, ethical customer service, and having your insurance contractually honored, go elsewhere. First, this office demonstrates a severe lack of financial integrity. On June 30th, I paid a $516 patient balance in full. Two days later, management aggressively demanded I settle that exact same balance, falsely claiming no payment had been received. Had I not fiercely protected myself by insisting on a physical receipt, they would have forced me to pay twice due to their own internal ledger failures. Second, they are actively violating their network provider agreements. They repeatedly insisted they do not accept my Sun Life PPO. After escalating this directly to Sun Life Compliance and the Director of Operations, the insurer conclusively confirmed that Dr. Tom Sorensen and this clinic remain active, participating providers bound by contracts with MetLife (signed Oct 18, 2025) and UnitedHealthcare (signed Mar 16, 2026). When a Sun Life representative initiated a recorded three-way call to correct this, Office Manager Thelma screamed over the carrier, tried to manipulate the data, and abruptly hung up on the insurer when confronted with the legal facts. They did the exact same thing with my Delta Dental PPO initially until the claims successfully processed and paid. Most concerning of all, I am in the middle of an active cycle of care for prepaid work that now requires immediate clinical correction. Because I stood up as an advocate for my own care and challenged their billing and insurance errors, the front staff has constructed bad-faith, retaliatory barriers to service, amounting to constructive patient abandonment and targeted, hostile discrimination. A formal consumer complaint has been submitted to the Colorado Division of Insurance, a formal administrative complaint has been filed with the Colorado Dental Board regarding licensee supervision, and Sun Life Compliance is actively investigating under Case Reference No. 202-6-00-42-34-53. Dr. Tom himself is a kind man and possibly a good dentist, but he is allowing his front-office staff to completely destroy his practice's reputation, violate state network laws, and abuse patients. Check the other negative reviews online--this is a systemic pattern of administrative malpractice. Avoid this front office at all costs. If you value fairness in pricing, proper payments, sanity, and respect go somewhere else. This practice also seems to believe that because they are a high volume office that it is an excuse to do these action or hang up. I currently also have a recorded three way conversation with my insurance provider and Thelma were she is attempting to bully both me and a neutral third party and attempting to cohort the insurance carrier in agreeing with her when they disagree with her claim. If you only need a cleaning - then that's what you get! They don't force X-rays and 5min exams just to charge more money.
