This place deserves a ZERO rating. It should be out of business. My daughter was transferred there from St. Joseph's in Joliet. After reading the reviews I didn't want her at Riveredge, but the hospital staff told me that Riveredge was the only location that had an available bed. Both my daughter and my experience with this place has been horrible. My daughter is currently there as I write this message. Her being there has kept me up at night. my daughter has gotten into two physical altercations and my daughter is not a fighter. She told me that a girl just walked up to her, punched her in her face and jaw, and it was swollen and she was in a lot of pain. No one from the facility called to tell me that my daughter was involved in an altercation. I had to hear from my daughter when she called during their one hour phone time. I've left over four messages for her therapist. No one has returned my call. I've also left messages for the nurse and the doctor. I just want to get a status of my daughter because she's been there over 10 days. I have to call multiple times before someone will even pick up the phone in the adolescent unit. you phone just rings. And when I am talking to my daughter it's very loud and kids are in the background cursing and yelling. This place is very unorganized. There is no way the kids should be touching one another. My daughter says they're allowed to say whatever they want, which includes profanity. They're allowed to comb each other's hair. There seems to be no rules at this place. I don't know how my daughter could possibly walk out of here better than she was when she went in. This is not the type of care I had in mind for my daughter. I can't wait until she is released. no circumstances will we ever foot in this place again? read more

This is a hellhole. DO NOT SEND ANYONE HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 99% of the workers are sadistic and cruel and disgusting. They seem to thrive on the misery of others. My son was a patient there and he is not the same person anymore. Now he feels like a burden. He apologizes for sneezing. His basic needs were not met. When he came home after only five days, his nails were long and his ears were disgusting. Even if you bring them something, they don't receive it. Everyone was shivering at night with only the thinnest blanket. So we brought him one. He never got it. Everyone's skin was dry so we brought him lotion. He never got it. Now, he has cracked skin around his genitals. He stutters severely now and he hasn't stuttered in years. He was punched in the face by a bully and not even given ice. That same bully left a scar on my son's leg. He asked an inappropriate question and had to stay an extra day. I am relieved he was not sexually assaulted. I think that would break me. But if you Google Riveredge and "lawsuits," your heart will break for what you will learn. I am appalled that ER hospitals would even think of sending someone to this establishment. I truly believe my son would have been better off in prison. In prison you are not freezing at night. In prison you get hot food, not cold slop. In prison, you won't get sick from drinking the expired milk. In prison you do not have intravenous medicine injected in your a$$ for any reason. In prison, you do not stay an extra day for asking an inappropriate question. This place should burn and the sadistic staff should be put in prison. Except for one person who was kind. My daughter was admitted to this hospital for a failed suicide attempt. This is by far, one of the most disorganized psychiatric facilities I've ever been to, and I'm a nurse. Although the staff were nice, communication was very poor - I often was left on hold, misinformed, and many times, told different things from different people. My daughter also had extrapyramidal symptoms from her medications post-discharge and the on-call doctor didn't even have the courage to call me back for recommendations on dosage, etc. I had to rely on her outpatient psychiatrist to make proper arrangements. Don't even get me started on the discharge planning. THERE WAS NONE! I was told to pick up my daughter at 12pm, and by 12:30, all they did was hand me my daughter and her bag of personal belongings. When I asked about discharge instructions, the staff member just pointed to her patient belongings bag. What kind of discharge is that?! Psychiatric medications can cause a whole mess of symptoms if not monitored properly!!! People rarely answer the phone that I've had to come IN PERSON just to ask for a damn medical note so my daughter can return to work. This gets one star, but really deserves negative stars. read more

The staff were constantly swearing, I couldn't get any sleep cause of the screaming kids and the thin pillows and blankets, plus it was way too cold. Horrible place the staff was so rude and unprofessional. Extremely unorganized. My roommate was a Spanish only speaking patient and the whole week I was there, they failed to get her a translator, I only knew a bit so I translated for her the whole time I was there. It added a lot of stress and being there overall was just not helping. And they would let the meals sit out for a long time before letting us eat. The food would be spoiled sometimes too. This place is very dirty and they ignored a patient who peed in the hallways...disgusting!!! I am 14 and went here 3 years ago the staff were terrible and cruel mean to kids not just me but also the 7 year olds. I was punished for crying. Also I went their for failed attempts at suicide to this day I still refuse to go see a therapist due to the fact that that one was so bad. Staff was unprofessional and one would spend the whole day on the phone. We also got no help just spent the whole day watching movies. My parents had a hard time communicating and I got little parenting visiting times. They lied as staff to my parents and to me about my parents they would barely feed you if you were bad and they would but you in a dark room if you were upset it was for calming down but it was strait out of a horror movie! They treated us like we did not deserve to have lived and told us so as our therapists! The workers had obvious favorites and allowed those kids special privileges. They did not allow us many belongings though we lived there for a while and they gave us little medical help when sick as one kid was. This was annoying cause it was a literal hospital. I did not get better just terrified of going back. Wish I could give this place negative stars. read more

First of all, I'm a Christian now. Just don't let your loved ones attend this, I can't even think of a word for it. My loved one was so doped up, he didn't even know who we were. Then when we SWIFTLY removed him they wanted to know why we were removing him...Are you DUMB!!!!! WE popped up on them. They didn't even know we were coming because they have certain visiting hours. Terrible experience - I would not recommend this facility to anyone. I was held at this facility against my will for 10 days, and it was a nightmare from start to finish. Despite my family's efforts to contact me and get me out, the staff lied, saying I wasn't there and that I didn't want visitors or calls, which was completely untrue. I was denied basic needs like food and showers, and when I fell out of my wheelchair three times, I was blamed. As someone who works in healthcare, I tried asking questions, but was told to be quiet. The staff was cruel, especially Phyllis (the one with red hair), Destiny, and another staff member who was bald with silver hair. They were rude, unprofessional, and made the environment even more difficult to bear. I was soaked in my own blood and urine for long periods, and after becoming severely dehydrated, I had to be rushed to the ER. Dr. Goldberg wrongly diagnosed me with schizophrenia, which I have never had, and the facility tried to keep me there longer, despite my condition. My calls to patient advocacy went unanswered, and when other patients tried to help me, they were yelled at by staff. I was made to feel completely powerless. This place needs to be investigated and shut down. I'm sharing my experience so others can avoid the same treatment. read more

I was here for 1 week, they said I would have atleast 1 month here, I said I don't want to do that, before I went to riveredge, I was at layola, their wait time is HORRIBLE, I was taken out of school around 10-11am, and the time they took me out of layola it was around 12 am. Then, I went to riveredge, it took me atleast 10-20 minutes to get them for my mom to sign up, and so when I went in towards the 3rd floor, they took blood samples which my mom did NOT consent to, then after a day, in the morning the staff was unbelievably rude to me, I ignored it, after I got out, guess what I did, I fucking flipped the building and the staff off. read more

I should have left this review years ago. I was saved by the most wonderful psychiatrist, Dr. Ralph. The staff is amazing, the doctor is beyond amazing! Prior to my admittance, I was seeing a psychiatrist who I thought was good, but numbing a patient and over prescribing is not good. I was sent to the ER because the prior psychiatrist was no longer able to practice. I shall say no more about that. I am so thankful for the psychiatrist. STAY AWAY!!!!!!! My son was here recently and I had him transferred after the first day of being here!!! He's been hospitalized before, and he said none of them were ANYTHING close to as bad as this. I wish I could give this negative 100 stars because it's SO bad!!! -They treat the kids like they're convicted felons -the entire feel of the place during visitation felt like prison, and I've never been in a prison in my life -the bathroom is dirty and never cleaned -the nurses do nothing but yell at the kids and some even throw things at the kids as well -they tell the kids "don't cry or you'll be here longer", which makes it worse for them because crying is a NORMAL human emotion, not something you can just turn on and off like a light switch -the kids NEVER get to pick their food. The staff picks it. The food is either stale or has mold on it. And the food that is edible tastes disgusting. My son starved because he refused to eat moldy, spoiled food. -my son is traumatized by just being there for 1 day!!! The receptionist wasn't very nice either when I first came in the building for visitation. She literally said "what do you want?" instead of being friendly like "hi, how can I help you?" I am only sharing this so everyone knows. I placed an order online at the Crestwood Walmart. 3 items that would be delivered the same day. I ordered one hair product and 2 cases of diet pepsi. They charge you immediately which is fine. They sent me texts with updates and provided me with the name of the driver and a contact number. She delivers my order and the only thing I received was the hair product. I immediately called the number which didnt go through because I didn't have an Uber account. I quickly called the store and was told they don't handle online orders. I went online and had to go into a chat where I was told that diet pepsi is not insured for delivery or replacement. So in my frustration I asked.. did I just buy her a gift? That makes no sense that they get to keep the product I bought. They said I know this is not the answer you want to hear. No, it was not at all. I was able to find an online number to call and was told the same exact thing. So according to Walmart they offer free delivery when you join their program but then only insure certain items. So she keeps the pop that I paid for. It is not the money, it is the principal. It felt like she knew what she could keep without issue. Oh and the person on the phone gave me her phone number because they don't call the drivers. That is not their job???? So it is somehow my job? I tried the number they gave me and again it couldn't go through. So just beware of their store policies. Im not done with this yet. Psychiatric didn't see a doctor in 72 hours. The food service stunk I was on the third floor.There was favoritism between nursing staff and residents. Residents were getting Doritos for breakfast for those who had a special relationship with staff. The food would sit for 3 hours before it was served. Being there they allowed a client to get a feel off me. They would listen in on your phone calls. read more

My daughter is there going on 5 days and we have not had any calls from a therapist or Dr. She was prescribed medication at this facility that could interfere with her regular medication. Staff had to be hounded into giving her medication previously prescribed before her admission. We had to check our belongings for a visit and then hand over the key used to secure our belongings to staff ! And good luck trying to get your call answered. The phone system is beyond horrible. Leaving messages requesting a call back is futile also. Our visit was started late with no reason given. Absolutely not the place to put someone you love !!!!!!!! Floors filthy also. I recently got referred to you guys and it has been nothing but a nightmare for me.I came in asked for therapy for my fourteen year old son and all the program has been about how to put him on medicine he does not need I worked with meg and bRyan the worst people I have been conversating with . My child was bullied at the Facility and he defended himself why keep trying to push medicine off on the parents I really wish I had a better experience as well better opportunity to talk to someone I wanted grief therapy as well as help but recieved nothing but I feel like harassing call about trying to put my child on medicine not even 1 to 2 day in the program . I called asking about discharge paper to get emailed to me still have not received. Now I have been waiting on a call back from byran as meg told me he was in a group session at 1130 and it ends by 1145 it is now 2 pm still no return call I really want this issue corrected I have hear nothing but lies after lies from the staff this is very unacceptable b I also asked meg was there cameras in the building she informed me she does not have to tell me anything when I call she pushes me off on Ryan who does not make return call back can I get some one over them cause them two just not doing a good job of Assistant parents that have children that really need help my child have a iep but smart as a whistle why force that innocent young man still growing to take medicine he does not need we got kicked out of the program because I refused medicine and we really needed the help but never again will I go with a referral for this place and I would inform my family and friends to never return again cause it is no medicine no help read more

Please do not take your loved ones to this place. Due to my daughter being mild mentally impaired she has no other place to go, she suffered a psychosis the ER in our town transferred her to Riversedge, this was the 2nd time she has been there, the ER did find that she had a UTI and sent in her paperwork . and the medicine that the doc gave her made her worse , we explained that to the nurse and told them about the UTI to make sure she was getting the antibiotic. Spoke to the doctor over the phone he stated they were no longer giving her the medicine that we expressed only made her worse slowly speaking to her on the phone my daughter sounded worse, slurring words. after 10 days of being in there they said she was ready to come home, picked her up she was worse than when she was admitted the med that we told the doc was not for her was being given to her but doubled the dose, they never treated her for the UTI she was a hot mess and she was being restrained by straps I have the pics to prove it. She is petrified if she evens hears Riversedge When someone is going thru a psychosis the last thing you do is restrain them and back of her legs were bruised from wide straps, also they put her in a diaper she don't need to wear a diaper, I can not tell you how upset I am, this is not humane treatment, and doubling the meds that we said not to give her, her anxiety was thru the roof, not treating a UTI... what the ? are they doing at this place, close it down do the patients a favor so the do not have to put up with this type of abuse, cause it surely is not mental health care!! read more

If I could give a half star i would, I took my daughter there and it was a big mistake. the staff was really mean and did not care about me or my daughter. at first I thought it was a good idea to get my daughter some help, but little did i know that it would only scare her for the rest of her life. When we went in and signed in they took my daughter away. They made her sleep in a room with a random other girl, and only be able to call me and my husband in the morning for 3 minutes. they would not let her have her phone to be able to report an emergency to us. the food was bad, and you only got to have a choice what to eat if you were good. they would not be able to leave their rooms past 6 pm. overall i would never recommend this place EVER. read more

don't send your child there unless you want CRAPPY care. I signed a 5 days form saying they have to release my child no more than 5 days , so we can take her to a facility better suited for her if her counselor thinks she still needs it. riveredge agreed to it and now they aren't. they even agreed to letting her out a day before. 2 hours before she was supposed to be released they called and said no. nothing has changed. she's been talking to them but because the doctor says she can't come home they won't allow. We are contacting an attorney and taking them to court if they don't release her. she hasn't got her stuff, food is crappy, they haven't even tried to help her out. Now they told my mom right after I talked to her that she's sleeping obviously she isn't. She's autistic and needs help. she obviously won't talk to a group of people We Are calling and putting several complaints about them plus will go to court to get her out. If a hospital tells you you don't have a choice they have to go to that mental hospital. Discharge then yourself let them call child protective services bc when they do the investigation and it shows you were picking where she goes I doubt anything would happen. We just wanted her at a good facility but were denied other than taking her to Riveredge. which like all the other reviews it isnt the best place to be. I'm a mom not the patient. Don't take your kid here. The first night she had to sleep in her ER paper thin gown. You tell me how good the place is. When I tell them she's autistic and needs fidgets something to do with her hands and it's not followed We are going on 5 days and yet she still hasn't got her squishmallow to help her sleep Again just need her out. Riveredge if your seeing this I'm going to keep complaint about the care she's getting until she's out are we see you in court. Her safety is my number 1 concern. We have a environment suited best for her and again if her counselor or doctor thinks she's needs in a facility I SHOULD be able to pick it. read more

I had a really bad experience with a specific worker named emily, she was extremely rude and disrespectful and yelled for no reason, I understand that working there is hard, but there is no reason to take it out on the patients who did nothing. It was pretty fine to me, but boring since we had no phones of some sort for obvious reasons, at least it encouraged me to socialize with the other kids. For hospitals food I had a bowel movement. The staff is hard working #fOre and suburban hospital. It was really decent.

This review is part of my cousin needing to heal from the emotional and mental abuse she suffered at the hands of staff at Riveredge Hospital in Forest park in the late 80's. I am speaking on her behalf. My cousin had some teenage depression. She was admitted to Riveredge as a teen. No drugs, no drinking issues. Depression. My cousin told my Aunt and Uncle some things that were going on at this facility. When the staff found out from my aunt and uncle whom were upset with what they found out was going on in that unit, they said to my cousin "who do you think people are going to believe? Us or you. Look where you are." The staff in a group session then allowed another teen to berate my cousin in retaliation for my cousin complaining to her parents about some transgressions that transpired with this other teen on that unit/floor. When the staff could not find any diagnosis other than mild depression for my cousin that was a TEENAGER at the time, they told her she suffered from, "narcistic personality disorder." Years later my cousin was told by a psychologist that as a teenager any teen can be, " narcistic," in nature. Riveredge needed something to hold my cousin with for insurance purposes longer term. Something to diagnose her with for insurance purposes. It was common knowledge amongst the teenage patients that the only way anyone was, "cured," and released was either to lie and agree with what the staff members told them they were feeling or if the parent's insurance ran out. The kids called it, "playing the therapy game." Agree with the therapists on staff at Riveredge or you will not be deemed to be making progress and released. Many kids knew they were stuck at this private hospital for great lengths of time due to mom or dad having great health coverage. Today, despite being at Riveredge Hospital for a month, my cousin is a thriving individual. She is a productive member of society that is happy and healthy in mind, body and spirit. That is despite her stay at Riveredge Hospital as a teen for mild depression. Occasionally she still has nightmares about her experience at Riveredge Hospital in Forest Park. I told my cousin I would write a review even though this transpired in the mid-late 80's. I did this for her as part of her healing process. I am happy as her cousin and as her friend to do so. Please seek therapy elsewhere for your teen, child or for yourself. I can see from more recent reviews of Riveredge in Forest Park that it is still a pretty lousy place to experience therapy. read more

I went for outpatient services here back in 2018 and talk therapy is fine, but when someone has a certain mental illness, you want it addressed by a specialist in that field not a basic catch all therapist. I saw three different psychiatrists in a span of 6 months because two of them quit and went somewhere else. Then the nurse practitioner took over everyone's cases (hundreds of people) and had the nerve to misdiagnose me as bipolar and then got really nasty about it and was downright rude and condescending. I have a personality disorder, not a disease. I had to call up the director of the hospital to complain about her nasty attitude and misdiagnosis. I have been seeing therapists and psychiatrists since I was 7 years old, I know already that I am not bipolar. They seem to be very over crowded and understaffed, and if you have an appointment, expect to be waiting for up to two hours over your appointment time just to see someone. My daughter is currently in a program here, they seem to not understand HIPAA laws, where they are giving her grandmother updates on her progress and private information. I am the legal guardian, not her grandmother. She is the babysitter. Why are these people telling random people sensitive medical information without checking IDs and checking paperwork to see who is the legal guardian? They seem to be struggling with a lot of things here and the quality of care, customer service and being able to follow legal medical HIPAA privacy laws is very low here. If you like to have your private medical information shared with everyone that walks in, this is the place for you! read more

It saddens me to read continued complaints particularly of the night shift staff. I'm amazed the comportment of the staff, particularly in the evening has not changed. The CEO of the facility contacted me soon after I filed my complaint through multiple websites. She seemed concerned and promised to address the issues exhibited by the night staff. As I told her when we spoke a few years ago, I realize the pool of qualified candidates narrows significantly when hiring for the 3rd shift. Either you pay more for qualified staff or don't hire. Should low skilled unqualified personnel be staffed in any shift, the place should either be shut down or converted into a strictly out-patient facility. Young patients should not be spending the night at this facility which seems to have poor hiring practice. read more

I would prefer to this hospital a negative 100 if possible. My daughter was up there from 12/3 to 12/10. I praise God that she got out of there, as she contracted COVID at this hospital. She tested negative for Covid before they sent her up there. When she got home she had sore throat, temperature and throwing up. She tested positive for COVID the Friday (12/17) after she got home. It progressed so quickly and she was admitted to the hospital on 12/18. She missed Christmas and is still in the hospital on oxygen and now having heart issues. If she had not gotten out of there when she did, I really think she would have died. She told me that they did not follow CDC guidelines on mask wearing. She informed me the doctor she was meeting with was coughing and actually moving his mask to cough. I was not at the hospital to actually experience what went on, but I am coming from a mother's point of view who loves her child more than anything in the world, and is now seeing what she has to go through because they did not keep her safe when she needed them the most. This hospital should be shut down. As a parent do not send your child to this facility. Please do your homework. This place should not even be in business. Try elsewhere. This place is just about collecting money. Staff were unprofessional when we checked in. Getting information about our daughter required me to call multiple times although we were told we could call anytime. We call and they usually were having a crisis and you have to leave a message. The doctor didn't even see our daughter for a couple of days and then she didn't help her. Her diagnosis and notes in discharge was a repeat of what we told her we thought was the problem. The social worker was nice once she was finally assigned. There was no sense of urgency in the treatment just them being able to charge for multiple days. My daughter couldn't eat because the food was nasty. Art therapy was some crayons a coloring sheet with instructions to color if they want to. Dance therapy never happened. Music therapy was play some unknown instruments if they want to. Group therapy was sitting and gossiping about other kids while the staff did something else. Our daughter needed therapy for the time she spent there. They are permanently on our do not use list. read more

This will be put in separate sections to make it easier to read. (?) I was first admitted here in spring of 2020 on the children's unit. I was 12 years old. I was there for nearly 2 months. I have Asperger's syndrome (autism), Major Depressive Disorder, suicidal thoughts and self-harm, and severe anxiety, and had some trauma going as far back as early childhood. They put me on medications not meant for my conditions. Most were meant for schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. I get panic attacks just thinking about the place. (FOOD) Most patients had vitamin D deficiency, both from the lack of sunlight and lack of nutritious meals. They had hardly any fruits or vegetables. They have a huge problem when it comes to allergies. I've been told by a staff member that years ago somebody died there from eating something they're allergic to. While I was there, I was fed shrimp despite me communicating that I have shellfish intolerance. Another patient had been fed something they were allergic to. (PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT) The facility looked very depressing. The day-room had a view of a graveyard and my room had a view of a brick wall. It was very unsanitary. There was filth everywhere. There were ants and once there even was a rat! (MENTAL HEALTH) I'm unsure if I can even call their "groups" actual groups. All we did was sit there while somebody read us a basic children's book or told us something along the lines of "When you feel sad just color!". Since I have Autism, sometimes I make noises I can't control. I made a humming noise once and a staff member mimicked me and told me to not do that. They often humiliated me. Once I was in the "quiet room" trying to calm down and a security man told me to leave with no reason. I was picking up my playing cards, but he got upset because I was too slow. He grabbed my cards, and I started to panic. He later put me in a hold because I was crying. I got a PRN for no reason. Nobody was in any danger, so there was no reason to touch me. The staff often invalidate my emotions rather than help me. My emotional stability deteriorated the longer I was there. Once they showed my breast in front of all of the patients. (SCHOOL) They gave me simple 1st-grade level school work rather than work for my grade level. (OTHER NOTES) They didn't let me have fidget toys in group because it is a "distraction" even though I needed them to focus and stay calm. read more

This place is horrific! My son was recently a pt. I had nothing but trouble, conflict and lies being told to me by the staff. My son was threatened, if he did not do as told he would die. My son's clothes, shoes, socks underwear, BIBLE and glasses, were stolen. They did nothing about the situation but give him a hospital gown to wear. Staff members would play games with the phone when I tried to call my son. Sometimes a couple men pretending to be my son on the phone and speak gibberish to me. I caught on and knew for sure when I asked, "If this is my son what is your middle name?" They did "not know" the answer. I caught them. Later in the conversation, when off topic, I heard one guy yell, my son's middle name to the other guy I was speaking to on the phone. I could hear them laughing. (they must have looked up my son's middle name) Other times they made up excuses so I was unable to speak to my son. They NEVER gave my son my messages when I was unable to speak to him, after telling me they WOULD give my son my messages. My son "never received" ANY messages from me and I called everyday. So much more terrible things happened, I could write a book. I do NOT recommend this place to a dog. They treat their pt.s horrible!!! (and their loved ones trying to call them on the phone.) i dont recomend this hospital to anyone no matter the cirucmstance. i was admited to this hospital in 5th grade becuase of my failed suicide attempt. my dad had went to this hospital when he was about 16 and he told me that it was a nice place that helped him. times have CLEARLY changed. i remember only being allowed to use the phone once a day for roughly 15 minutes with my mom who was actively trying to discharge me. i remember on my first day i tried to have a good outlook on the facility and make some friends, all went great untill it was bedtime. my roomate asked me to preform a sexual act on them to wich i swiftly asked a night guard for help to which they promptly laughed in my face and when i called them out for being improfessional and to take me seriously they gave me an additude then they walked into the room and made the kid carry his mattress into a padded cell right next to the "quiet room". not gonna lie i felt pretty bad for the way the staff treated him, i mean afterall he was just another patient going through tough times... the facility was dirty and the "coping skills" taught were pretty dog shit and if you were to ask me now i cant remember a single thing taught there. i still remember the feeling of emptyness as i stared out of the little window in that dungeon they called a bedroom. im 15 now and still pretty messed up in the head but i wont risk doing anything because i never wanna go back lol. so i guess... task failed successfully? read more

When I was about 14, I attended their outpatient program, and I have to say that it was the worst behavioral health system I've ever seen, and my experience left a lot to be desired. Their impatient program was only on the second floor, and the staff would literally threaten to send you up there if you so much as blinked wrong, one of the morning staff in the day room had a taser in his desk, and The therapist that I was assigned to was no good. At the time I had kind of a bad temper problem, and it was easy to get a rise out of me, and I kind of got bullied by some of the other patients there, and I would have angry outbursts at them when they would tease me. The staff would always make it seem like I'm the instigator, and that I was the only one causing all of the trouble, when really I only had a bad reaction to being tormented by other patients that were older, bigger and stronger than me at the time. Every time I talked to the staff, or therapists about it, they talked down upon me as if I was acting like an idiot or as if I was the aggressor. Then they would tell me to just "ignore them" after they would witness them literally tease/antagonize me. But every time they would catch me react in the slightest, they would penalize me some way some how. My therapist would literally call my mom, and talk to her about my "disruptive behavior" and I would literally get in trouble at home, just because I was being bullied, and the staff didn't like how I reacted. Now my main problem is not that I was getting bullied, and that the staff didn't care, I was being bullied by the other patients, and by a staff member as well. On my last day there, I was getting teased by the other patients (again) and I was arguing with three other young men who were older than me because they were making fun of my outfit at the time, and the staff member that was there to witness the whole thing unfold, literally told the kids that were picking on me to ignore ME! Then when I got pissed, and started yelling at him, and calling him out, asking him if he didn't just see those other kids talk shit to me first, he just sat there on his phone for a second, then looked up at me and began to mock me as well, and made a frowning (grr) face at me. Idk why, but I'm pretty sure it was only to get under my skin even more because he knew that he would. And sure enough, he did. I got even angrier and started yelling even louder, and there my therapist was again coming from around the corner, to talk to me as if I was an idiot, telling me to contain myself, and lecturing me as if I was the one who provoked those other kids, when really they were provoking me, and again, at that time I had really bad temper problems, and I would only react badly to being treated like shit. The next few days after that incident, my mom woke me up early to be picked up by their transportation services again, but they never pulled up. It took them 3 days to call my mom and tell her that they "discharged" (kicked me out) of the program, after giving me half ass crumby treatment for only a week and a half. If you don't want your kids to get any true therapeutic help do not send them here. I absolutely do not recommend this place for anyone. read more

The communication with the staff is the worst I've ever seen from anywhere. I would get a different answer every time I'd speak with someone. They told me they would pass on a message for my daughter to just tell her I called and they would lie, say no problem but never tell her. not to mention that it took 4 days to "process" her clothes that I brought for her. I was in this facility in January of 2021, I see many negative reviews here but my experience was positive. I am a 40 year old male with autism, the staff in my experience was very good and comforting at times especially Chrystina. I received many useful resources however aftercare was not that great but that was due to a myriad of reasons. I did have a problem with a med nurse being rude however the staff was very quick to talk to her. I was very polite and patient with the staff so when I did have a problem they were understanding. My experience is likely related to my patience, I know other patients at the time did not have the same experience. read more

Honestly I would say I have a very positive experience being here I felt safe for the time I was here I was treated with respect and nurses and MHA's were kind, not all of them but most of them. Every time I go I feel myself getting better and better but it is taking time so I'm starting not to beat myself up about being here often. This just means I need extra help and I always feel welcome. I always learn new coping skills and it's really nice to know your not alone. read more
