The staff were incredibly rude. Quoted 2.5, paid 3k. Which is fine we booked it because we are long time residents of the valley and decided to hold my mom's memorial here in South Fork. We asked for a few boxes of tissues, even offered to pay. The lady at the front desk said "you guys should of came prepared these are for the cabins." Couldn't even get extra toilet paper. We rented the club house for the memorial. There was a rude man in there screwing the doors to the kitchen shut. We asked nicely when they will be done and the most we got out of him was 'ill be quiet'. We booked this place months in advance. DO NOT GO HERE. DO NOT RECCOMEND. THE CABINS DOWN THE STREET BEFORE RAINBOW GROCERY ARE WAY BETTER. read more

over the phone this place was raved about and it was so beautiful we would want to stay longer! So we were anticipating a beautiful spot overlooking the river. Instead, we were in the middle of a gravel parking lot 3 feet between the various RVs. We dare open our windows as we could wave at our neighbors. We could hand them a cup of coffee we were so close. If we opened our windows, we could see the back end of the pick up truck or RV in front of us or our truck behind us. It was so disappointing. The dog walk was a long hike away and the only way you could see the river was to get out of your RV and walk over to the buildings and look down several feet hundreds of feet to the river. Do not recommend. Tanna owner accused my family which I stayed Aug. 2023 in Big red cabin. Not Aspen. I was held accountable for the family that stayed in ASPEN cabin. I emailed her to clarify that she made a mistake and that I did not want to be held responsible for some other family's actions. She didn't respond to me after replying to her accusations. She accused me of having pets and that they chewed their furniture where I don't own any pets, unless she is calling my children pets. My kids are older. I've stayed there multiple times since 2021 and never had an issue, now Ms. Tanna is blaming the wrong family, And she will respond to your reviews to try to hide the wrongful she is doing. read more

We come and stay every year at Riverbend. It's a quick trip up to the ski resort and so peaceful and quite at night. We had the best weekend with our group of friends. Always clean and easy to check in, I'd give it 100 more stars if I could! read more

This resort has beautiful scenery and is located on the river! They still have the original frame of the cabin that was used in one of the National Lampoon's movies. It was pretty neat to step inside their office/gift shop for a minute or two and see where bits and pieces of the movie were filmed. The RV park when full is pretty crowded, but not extremely hard to get into. The bathrooms are very private and CLEAN! It felt like I was in someone's home! I wish I could stay longer! The WiFi is very weak, and we were not far from the office, but we were well out of range, and we didn't have a lot of great signal here (texts will send, but pictures send very slowly), but if you have no plans to scroll social media, you will have a great time! read more

Recently stayed at Riverbend for a family trip to ski at Wolf Creek. Upon our arrival, the lady informed us that we had the smoking cabin. We said we weren't told about that when we called to make the reservation. She was kind enough to let us stay the first 3 nights in a different cabin. (We ultimately checked out and drove back to Santa Fe for our 4th night, because they wanted to put us back into the smoking cabin.) The housekeeper was NOT happy with us that we had been put into a cabin that she was still cleaning. The place is quaint & clean place to stay for a family vacation. read more

This was our first outing with our RV, it couldn't have been a nicer place. We thoroughly enjoyed each and every person we encountered, from the staff to the guests. We had a comfortable camp ground, social events and amazing golf course. Fished every day and caught a lot of fish. Pet and kid friendly! I know we will be back the same time next year. I've been really happy with the Riverbend. Although we've been coming to South Fork for years, this is our first time staying here, and it's been really great. It's one of the only places in South Fork with a cabin that has two queen beds and free wifi, which were really important to us since we have two couples in our party. Our cabin was named Summit. Like most of the other cabins in South Fork, the appearance is very rustic. (But it's very charming!) Pros: Great fireplace, free firewood, free wifi, well-stocked kitchenware (more utensils and dishes than other places I've stayed here), forced-air heat (so you don't have to leave your bedroom door open at night to stay warm), charming and cute, sleds to borrow, big flat-panel TV, DVD-players to borrow, and space heaters to borrow. There's also a nice big kitchen table where we set up our laptops, and they have a nice selection of different pillows with varying poofiness. Cons: One of the queen beds dips in the middle so we roll into each other a bit at night. (The other couple says their bed is fine.) The wifi is pretty slow -- it takes a few minutes to load a YouTube video before we can watch it. Overall I was very pleased, and we plan to stay here in the future on our annual trip. Also, fun fact: National Lampoon's Vacation filmed some scenes at the Riverbend, and there are a bunch of photos of the actors filming here in the lobby. read more

Recently had a chance to stay at the Riverbend cabins for a weekend ski trip to Wolf Creek and had a fabulous time! The amenities were fabulous, as were our hosts, Dan and Linda, who were very friendly and helpful during our stay. Their attention to little details was much appreciated, such as a kitted-out kitchen, grill on the deck and personalized tour book with info on all sorts of local and regional places to eat and things to do. The fireplace (stocked generously with free firewood) was perfect for chasing off the chill at night and the view of the river at sunrise was gorgeous in the morning. Bonus points for early-season prices that were quite affordable. Riverbend is absolutely charming and the perfect place for both a romantic get-away or family ski vacay. We can't wait to return for some powdah chowdah at Wolf Creek. Bring on the winter snows! read more

My FAVORITE getaway!! I have been staying at Riverbend since 1995...almost 15 years now...and I have NEVER had a bad experience. The owners, Dan and Linda, are the salt of the earth, nicest people you will ever get to spend time with! There is something very special about Riverbend that I have not found anywhere else...It always feels like home to me!! Whether its just me, or me and my two dogs, me and the my family or me and friends, I am always so excited to pull in and unload into anyone of the cabins - they are all perfect. They each have great wood burning fireplaces, a great little kitchen to cook, comfy furniture and new TV's and wireless...and you look out the window to a great view of the river and even watch the birds eat the birdseed out off your patio (birdseed provided). Writing this review makes me even more excited and anxious to make my trip down for the weekend or mid-week adventure for the deep snow Wolf Creek Ski Area gets each year! Great place for getting as close as possible for skiing at Wolf Creek! Really friendly owners and we wouldn't hesitate to come back.

I have been coming here for over 20 years and it has gotten worse every year. There has been almost no improvements to any of the cabins. The hot tub is always full and smells like feet. The WIFI goes out every night. The owners are rude and only care about making money and not investing into the resort. Take my advice and just do a VRBO you'll get a cabin 10X better and have a washing machine that doesn't cost so much money. read more

Love this place. The facilities are really nice and private. They have lots of movies and games and puzzles for the kids and adults that are available for use at the office. They have creek access and slow fishing in the area. Almost all of the sites have a really good view of the creek too. They are located just over the mountain from pagoda springs also. We will definitely be coming back. The best part is that they allow late check in which is a big plus for us traveling with kids. read more

We've visited Wolf Creek at least once a year over the last 10 years and enjoy the adventure of lodging at different places. December 27, 2013 was our first time staying at Riverbend Resort (a.k.a. Komfort Camp). What I would like you to know, if you are reading this review, is that there are special touches to this place that I haven't experienced at any of the other accommodations we've stayed at in South Fork. For example, bird seeds are left in a canister for wild bird feeding, bird feeders on your deck, rags dedicated only for messy cleanup situations, firewood and fire starters are left for you in the cabin, space heater for the bathroom, and much more. The view is spectacular! A movie every night at 7PM or 8 PM is available on the cabin TV if you want to tune in. Dishes were clean, refrigerator was spotless, more than enough blankets were left in the room. The water didn't smell either. The only downside for us with the wifi coverage in our cabin. It was weak, but also my broadband card was weak so it was probably the location of our cabin. I've read other posts so it looks like WiFi worked fine for others. We'll definitely stay again...we found our spot. read more

We have been staying at Riverbend Resort in South Fork for the summers for the past two years. This year we have reservations for three months. The owners Tanna & Travis and their three boys have become an extension of our family. Always entertaining to see what the boys are doing! The staff are quite friendly and we have met with several of them throughout the year at other locations. We've made new lifelong friends here and it's like having one big family when we visit. There are so many things to do in the area and while on property there is fishing(they stock the river with a trout), kayaking, mountain hiking, great restaurants and a few shops. You can find everything you need here. We get our RV same spot every year and it just feels like a second home. Potluck Thursday is always a big crowd with everyone bringing dishes to share. Sunday evening there is ice cream at the activity center. They show movies, exchange stories, and make S'mores around the campfire. It is a totally relaxed atmosphere here. There are several cabins and tent camping available right on the river. Beautiful and calming. This is truly God's country. We look forward to seeing everyone again this summer. As much as I would have loved to give this so-called resort 5 stars I just could not. I really don't know where to start - the spaces are close together - absolutely no landscaping (we had to ask several times for someone to please just come cut the weeds). The road noise is very loud. The wi-fi is slim to none! For what you get it is very expensive. When it rains it becomes a mud pit. The last point I will make is that a close friend that was also camping here tripped over exposed wires and took a serious fall. The way they fixed it was to park a truck over the wires! Had several power outages but thankfully we had surge protectors! read more

The Riverbend Resort is my favorite getaway from the hustle and bustle in Summit County and Denver. Tanna and Travis are always so accommodating when I call to book a cabin. I've stayed in several different cabins over the years and they are all charming in their own right. It's great to be able to relax and make a fire and watch a movie after making dinner. All the cabins have reliable WiFi, DVD players and the wood is provided along with fire starters and matches. Their movie library is pretty good too. The kitchens are stocked with all the necessary accessories. When visiting Wolf Creek it is much better to stay on the South Fork side because the drive up to the ski area is cleared and easily accessible where on the other side of the pass they often close the road for avalanche control work. Another convenience Riverbend provides is the option to buy your lift ticket directly from them at a discounted price and it allows you to go straight to the lifts.
