From the beginning, John, the owner, and his son Jonathan were honest, knowledgeable, and straightforward with me. What I appreciated most was that they took the time to properly look into the problem instead of immediately telling me I needed the most expensive repair. They explained everything in a way that was easy to understand, kept me informed throughout the process, and got my Camaro repaired and back on the road. John and Jonathan genuinely seem to care about their customers and doing the job right. After all the stress I had been dealing with trying to get my car fixed, it was a huge relief finding a transmission shop I could trust. Great customer service, honest people, and quality work. I'll definitely be coming back to El Monte Transmission for any future transmission needs. Thank you John, Jonathan, and the whole team! Highly recommend!

He explained that the transmission was having trouble shifting into third gear and would eventually need to be rebuilt. He also provided an estimate for the repair. Since the car is older, I decided not to invest additional money in rebuilding the transmission. Even though I chose not to proceed with the service, John still took the time to explain my options and recommend what I should do next. He went above and beyond, especially considering that the diagnostic was free. I truly appreciate John's honesty, helpful recommendations, and excellent customer service. I highly recommend him.

I was recommended to a transmission shop, and we replaced the engine, which had around 50k miles. I'm glad I was able to give my Jeep a second chance at life. I had them do a rebuild on my transmission along with a shift kit, a billet torque convertor. They…read morealso installed some performance parts like a deep sump pane external filter and modified the cross member. Initially, I was happy with the work. The transmission worked great, but there was always a noise under the truck I could place. It turned out to be the transfer case click and clacking whenever the trick shifted. There was a small amount of transmission fluid loss, but I couldn't find the source. So when it really started to leak badly, I called them. I asked if they could look at the truck and was told it's out of warranty. By the way, I've only driven the truck about a 1kmiles. The repair bill was 9thousand dollars when they did the repair job. Now, they don't even want to look at it to see why it was leaking. So here we are. I removed the transfer case myself and found their shotty installation work. These guys didn't even use the seal ( A 12 DOLLAR SEAL ) and some proper installation. Like torturing the nuts down, and I would have never had to leave this review. I also had to replace the transmission adapter flange it was destroyed by the back and forth of the t case movement. All I asked was if they would check it out and advise on the leak repair. I probably would have just had them do the work and paid what they asked. But if I have to check it myself and do the repair because of poor workmanship, I will let people know. Thanks.

TERRIBLE SERVICE -- THEY DO NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR OWN WORK OR WARRANTY…read more I brought my vehicle here for brake work, and after the service, my brake rotors were scratched/damaged. I went back and asked them to inspect the problem and honor their warranty, but instead of taking responsibility for the work they performed, they refused to honor the warranty. Their excuse was that I provided the brake pads. If providing my own parts was going to affect the warranty, that should have been clearly explained before the work was performed, not after there was a problem. What makes this even worse is that they wanted to charge me additional money to fix the problem. So they get paid to perform the work, the job does not turn out properly, and when you come back with a legitimate issue, instead of standing behind their work, they want to charge you again. That's not what I consider good customer service or professional workmanship. I'm not asking for anything for free. I'm simply asking them to take responsibility for the work I already paid for. VERY DISAPPOINTING EXPERIENCE. I WOULD NOT TAKE MY VEHICLE BACK HERE, AND I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS SHOP TO ANYONE. If you decide to use this shop, make sure you get everything in writing, especially what their warranty actually covers if you provide your own parts.

As a woman who knows nothing about cars, it is good to know a mechanic you cam trust, since most women usually get ripped off in some way/shape or form by mechanics. I went to Big O tires a few days ago to get my oil changed. They told me that I needed $400 worth of work on my brakes, and that it should be done as soon as possible.
