BEWARE! If you have Healthlink health insurance, do not go to this doctor unless you enjoy paying hundreds of dollars out of pocket. Now, you would think that the staff, when we checked in for the first time, would be kind enough to look at our insurance card, and say "oh, just to let you know, we ARE NOT a Healthlink provider." This means that the $60 in copays for 2 visits become almost $500 in bills, and more are coming. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! And what did the office clerk tell me when I called to ask for a break on the first of 3 bills? "I'm sorry, but it is the patient's responsibility to know what kind of provider we are, and what we will accept for insurance..." Wow, how uncaring is this doctor's office?? Where is her bedside manner? Is it all about making money and if the patient can't afford you, too bad?? Very sad; this disabled veteran and his disabled wife say to you: BOO! You stink! 'nuff said. read more

My experience BY FAR, was the best I've ever had, which has been many! The nurses were very knowledgeable and kind, through my entire hospital stay. I will be having additional surgeries on my fingers, and feel very comfortable using Heartland Regional Hospital in Marion, IL In addition, other patients need to take a lot more into consideration when going to the ER, & Hospital for surgery or testing. Issues arise and nothing is "for sure". Also, patience is a virtue and the same hospitality & respect will be given to you when you're seen!!

Came in for knee pain. All went well until examined by Carolyn Osborn, MSN RN, BC…read more This nurse was one of the most unprofessional Nurses I have seen. It was requested that I bend my knee and when I tried to do this there were a lot of pain involved in making the movements. The nurse started in with what I perceived as a attitude that I was wasting the nurses time. Then the nurse proceeded to role her eyes and treat me as though I was inconveniencing her. I had X-Ray and received some medicine. My belief is that Nurses are God sent and maybe she had a bad. Perhaps she may like to find a different profession if she doesn't want to deal with patients.

It's that easy. The staff explained all my billing and insurance options and took care of scheduling my surgery and hospital stay. Dr. Stokes sat down with me and explained things thoroughly. The office number phone system makes it…read moreimpossible to speak with anyone, the office staff never returns calls, and their billing is so difficult even the staff cannot calculate a co-pay. If you can get past all that and actually see Dr. Stokes, he's a nice guy but spends about 3mins total with every patient and doesn't communicate follow-ups sufficiently to have the staff order proper tests or schedule future appointments. No way I would ever recommend anyone go to Stokes Urology--just drive to St. Louis or Nashville.
