I don't really see the attraction with River Island. It's a bit like Next in my opinion - the stuff is just average High Street quality, nice enough but nothing special, but the company has decided they want to try and make it into a desireable designer-type brand, so they put the prices up and kids are daft enough to pay it becasuse they think it's cool.
It is a nice enough shop, in the Frenchgate so handy if you're doing town shopping. They've got mens and womens clothes and some shoes etc too. Like I say, there's nothing particularly wrong with it, it's just not the designer label stuff they want you to believe it is - there's no kudos in buying something in River Island which is fine as I don't care about kudos, I just wish they'd lower the prices a bit to make it a bit more realistic. read more
