The reason why im giving this rating it's due to the great customer service all the receptionist gave. The hotel it's ok, it's cheap but nice. Some parts are broken but my room was clean, don't except a 4-5 star hotel cause susanville doesn't have one if you're in a budget. Someone was smoking down stairs and the smell was coming up in my room, i told the front desk and she was amazing she took care of it right away. They do have one or two crack heads staying but overall it was good for the price.

This is a bit of a run down hotel. During my visit the Hog fire was nearby and no hotels were available due to the firefighters staying at the hotels. The rooms were decent to get a few hours sleep

Filthy bathroom. So much dirt.

The space deserves 0 stars. The only redeeming thing was the nice gal at the front counter. After a long drive pulled in here thinking we would get a room. Checked in and immediately checked out. No friggin way! Place should be condemned. Filthy room. Broken lights, dirty sheets, the list goes on ad on.

Yuck!

3:00 check in time? Our room wasn't ready until after 5:00, then it wasn't even our room, we had to take an upstairs room. If it wasn't for the fact that it was a holiday weekend and every hotel in town was full, we would have left. The outside was full of trash. I felt like I was in the ghetto.

This has to be the dirtiest places I have seen. The entire room was filthy. We did not feel safe staying here. The lock was broken off of the door so we placed the chairs against it for a sense of false security. Way overpriced. Would never recommend this place. Would give zero stars if I could.

Toe nail clippings under the bed. These are NOT mine.

Deserves zero stars. Stayed here as a last resort while in town for work. I could say lots about the condition but the highlight for me was when I checked out (after one night because it was too foul) and while packing i check under the bed to make sure I didn't leave anything- and what do I find? Large pile of toenail clippings! You heard me right people. That was the cherry on top for this stay.

Trash and hair on the floor.

We stayed one night, which was too many... The woman at the front desk was very nice and efficient, but... As soon as we opened the door to our room we smelled wet dog and noticed the window was partially opened with the AC on full blast. As we were setting our bags down my son noticed hair and stains on the blankets, so I looked at the other bed and it had a dirty blanket with hair on it also. Next stop was the bathroom which had a dirty toilet and no toilet paper, there were no tissues either! Then we noticed dog hair on the floor and trash under the beds. I immediately called the front desk, and she apologized and said she would have house keeping come take care of it. It took about an hour for housekeeping to deal with the mess. We left and came back, but we were sitting were we could see them coming in and out. The room was much better but the counters had still not been wiped down and the floor was only swept out the front door so it wasn't real clean. After we came back the AC was cranked as low as it would go and the wet dog smell was getting worse, so I shut off the AC and opened the window. That seemed to make the smell go away for the most part. As a side note the parking lot, stairs and walkways were covered in trash a cigarette buts which is not surprising sine they just sweep the rooms out the front doors and don't use dust pans or vacuums. Oh, and the furniture was placed really weird blocking the wall mounted lamps. I actually had to slide the dresser and bed just to use them.

A town filled with wildlife!

I have now stayed here several times. While its not fancy it is clean and the pricing is fantastic. The manager is a kick and really knows the town and area. The housekeeping staff is good, location is good and the restaurant on-site fits the bill. Susanville is a whistle stop for me but,I enjoy the time I spend in this motel.

I had the opportunity to stay at this family run hotel for almost 4 weeks. I was met by a wonderful…read morehuman being named Lorna who was exceptionally warm and very incredibly inviting from the start. Going through Susanville, it's particularly small with a long Main Street going through town. I had the opportunity to drive through Susanville for many years on my way to Nevada. Susanville is bitter cold during the winter and the summertime is stifling hot. I had called and talked to Lorna a couple days prior, she was extremely accommodating and willing to work with my busy schedule to meet in the evening for a late check-in. As I pulled up on a Tuesday in my large 4-wheel drive vehicle, I parked in the driveway area directly across from the 10-room long, one story building. Walking into the lobby, it brought me back to when I was young boy, traveling with my family and staying at family run hotels/motels. The place was visually inviting and smelled of fresh flowers. The beautiful potted flowers out front streamlined to my nose immediately, bringing even more of a nostalgic feeling of visiting my Grandma in Lodi, California when I visited from Oregon as a kid.. Maybe Jasmine? Not sure, I'm not a botanist, I'm surely not good at identifying by smell alone but I thought it was a nice touch. During my lengthy stay, Lorna was always making sure that I was taking care of with excellent room service and any accommodations that might make me feel comfortable, especially their yummy snacks that they give out to everyone who stays at their place. This was a real good idea for us people working during the day and wanting a tasty treat to come back to the room to. Lorna, a charming and lovely lady, was always positive and polite. Her husband, not as public, was always congenially polite. What a lucky guy I was to find such a warm place to stay for such a long time period. I'm a little discerning and picky about my hotel stays and usually try and find the Sheraton or Hilton. But not in Susanville, ha! Luckily, this family business understands the needs and desires of travelers who don't want to be drained of their financial means by the local Casino lodging alternative. The local Casino lodging was overpriced and unfortunately not very personable. I stayed there prior and was not at all swayed to hand over money for over priced lodging again. Over the next four weeks, Lorna, communicated with me daily, to make sure everything was to my liking. Fortunately, I was able to see Lorna at different locations throughout town since Susanville is small. With a lovely Main Street festival that served beer and good food, I actually had something to do other than sleep and work. The Internet was sufficient for what I do on the Internet, and even though I had a small hiccup with the air conditioner in my room, Loren made sure that was taken care of immediately and was more than apologetic than she needed to be. In fact, she moved me to another room without me requesting to do so. I thought this was such a nice gesture, since it was hot during this month. Since I stayed during the July 4th celebration, I was missing my family and all of our traditions and customary food. Without Lorna, knowing this, by any means of my communication with her, I was invited to a picnic and celebration at the hotel. Lorna and her very faithful and loyal friends and employees provided a wonderful and tasty barbecue. Her awesome employees have become her loyal friends over the years, a few of them have worked for her for decades, and their loyalty was well noted by me. And to make it even more special, Lorna was just as loyal to them. Lorna made me a take home feast that I was able to keep cold in the refrigerator for snacking throughout the week. This isn't an every day experience that a traveler is able to have, especially these days. In conclusion, I know I could have easily summarized this in one paragraph and understand that not everybody will want to read such a long review, but I wanted to give you a little depth to my experience. If you are looking for a good run, family hotel business, this is your place. I hope everybody that stays in Susanville will have a chance to meet Lorna and her husband. Thank you, Lorna and Jay! Miss you Lorna!!

Since I booked on Agoda the day of the trip, there was very little choice in rooms and was assigned Room 101, a room to the right of the pool, with one double sized bed and a bathroom with grip handles. Amenities: In the registration room, there is a cash-only ending machine that seemed 1/3 full, and a business center computer desk that was turned off when I arrived. On the opposite side of the parking lot, there is a vending machine room that only housed the ice machine (that I didn't test) and a cash-only soda machine. The pool is across the parking lot behind the office, and seemed to be a basic 35ft rectangle pool that goes from 3.5 to 6ft deep. Appliances: Everything worked. My room had a coffee maker, microwave, mini fridge, and a standard 36" widescreen TV with HD DirectTV receiver with standard service. The fridge included a freezer door so that frozen stuff doesn't affect the rest of the items. The lamps also included one standard AC outlet but no USB ports. There was also a phone, and an alarm that included settings to hear two types of nature sounds, but they still sounded staticky. Cleanliness: I didn't notice any problems with bugs or dirt, The room offered two medium sized trash cans. The pool had PH balance problems that made the water slightly cloudy because of the storm, and the staff apologized for it. There were no cracks or discolorations. There were clean towels available in a sealed box. Breakfast: There is a special room for breakfast next to the registration office. It's staffed, includes coffee/water, both hot and cold cereals (oatmeal packets for hot and two bulk cereal dispensers of frosted flakes and granola for cold), the apple/orange juice machine found everywhere Wyndham, a bowl of apples, and a freezer of milk and yogurt. Guests and Vibe: The parking lot was packed by the time I came in, and because of the storm, nobody was outside. You could hear others as the stay went on, but everybody honored quiet hours. Conclusion: This place what's to be expected of a Super 8: nothing less and nothing more. 3.5 stars.

Chose this motel because of the location (reached town around 9:30pm), decent rating on Expedia,…read moreand price point (about $66-72/night for a room with one bed). Check-in was quick and easy. We enjoyed meeting a cat outside the office door before heading to our room. The room wasn't big but I liked it. The bed was pretty comfortable and I was happy to see a desk because there was a chance I'd need to do a little work on my laptop. I didn't end up using their wifi but my husband seemed happy with the wifi speed. The two negatives: It was quiet when we arrived at ~9:45pm but at some point after 10pm we started hearing a lot of noise (neighbors moving around and talking). In the morning we could clearly hear somebody listening to a radio or tv. I didn't pay attention to the words but the noise was difficult to ignore. I don't think anyone was especially loud but it still sounded like they were almost in the same room. It was pretty difficult to lock the door from outside. We were fine locking it from inside the room but I definitely struggled outside. We only stayed one night, though, so it didn't really matter. Would I stay again? Probably. I'd try to bring some ear plugs, though.
