Very cool vintage clothing shop. Ever since Julian,…read more California when I bought some pieces of jewelry, my interest was peaked to come here cuz we had 30 minutes til we could check into our lodging. Tonight Doc got us reservations for a Speakeasy Mystery Crawl in Nashville. The COLD night air confirmed I better buy a black coat to match the new black dress since they have a dress code. Thankfully I found a bedazzled light weight black coat for $30, bling earrings and a ring to get into the mood for this evening's 7:30 pm event. This shop did not have that musty smell like Goodwill or Savers. We'd shop for music or Big Sky bears ages ago but not clothes. I think watching Twilight Zone in my school age years gave me the Willie's of wearing someone else's clothes. Hub's aunty even told them she had nightmares with her own mom's clothes when she passed. Hopefully the one sage bundle i saw in the shop will be cleansing enough with my purchases. Hubs stayed in the car with Grandpup and Doc decided to go next door and treated us to coffee. Thanks Doc for driving again today and the afternoon caffeine.

Wow! So many clothing options to choose from, and a variety of decades showcased. The attendant was…read morehelpful and not at all pushy. I was able to take my time and look through every section. Prices matched the value of the clothing in my opinion. There was plenty of parking. The store is in an area where you can shop around a little.

I feel as though this is a hit or miss thrift spot. I've found some *really cool* finds here…read more The racks are never organized, the staff hates that we are there, and the fitting room and bathrooms are closed half of the time. I go to this one if I am in the area, but this is not my first choice in Nashville. There is an outlet in the same parking lot - bring gloves and mental courage if you go over that way! The bins are wild!

Huge contrast in organization and system and price, see pictures and both Yelp reviews. Interesting experience, especially being able to compare both systems/businesses. This side was so much more organized and clean, including the bathrooms. Good to know that most, if not all, our donations get used. Atmosphere - Huge facility, both indoors and their parking lot. If you include both businesses for the facility, this might be the largest Goodwill store we have ever been to. Reuse is better than recycling! See pictures. Service - Self service. Price - Priced as marked, mostly inexpensive. Some things I felt were priced too high...? For example the chairs. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success for the last 120+ years. We donate often.

I purchased two small matching solid wood tables (16 x 16 x 24) and a single drinking glass. He suggested I pull up in front of his store to help me load the tables (as I had was parked across street at Richland Park Farmers Market). What a contrast to the business down the street where I bought 5 postcards for $2.00 each (grossly overpriced post cards of Nashville) bill total $10.92. Handed him $20.92 and he said thank you. I asked for my $10. change- he (about 30 years old) said oah it was $10.92 - - - other man (owner?) behind counter was watching and the man I asked for my $10.00 change pulled out $20. bill I had given him. Owner? said some people don't know how to make change. I replied it is uncommon that people hand customer their change and verbally count it back - an old school habit. This was a SIMPLE math calculation. All I am trying to point out is the feeling of honesty I experienced at Unique Thrift Store did by far outshine the experience of the Weird Antique business a short distance down the street - having to ask for my $10.00 change seemed purposeful.

While visiting Nashville for the first time I always make it a point to visit vintage clothing…read morestores as well as thrift shops. It can be daunting picking where to go since you have never gone into that city or know the market. I visited on March 21,2026 Also, there is the question of selection, price point, and condition ESPECIALLY when buying vintage pieces. I decided to check out The Hip Zipper because it is supposedly the oldest vintage store in Nashville and the prices from other reviewers said were fair to affordable! Selection made for the first stop. I was greeted by the lovely Gracie name suited her. She allowed me to browse quick to answer questions and showed me to the dressing room all while juggling other clients. The Hip Zipper has an ample dressing room for trying on. I think there is only one dressing room. However, in a pinch they might use the restroom. I must mention they do have a restroom which is lovely. I really love the layout of the store easy to survey every rack CLEARLY marked with what is there. The tags give additional help on the size and prices are CLEARLY marked. Please remember vintage does run smaller don't FORCE these garments to fit if you are having trouble PLEASE ask for assistance. I picked up two very fabulous dresses from two different eras of fashion. A sweater dress with amazing details and a matching belt dating from the 1940's to 1950's $ 52.00 and a late 1970's early 1980's dress for a mere $ 10.00! Although I wish I spent more time looking at accessories! There were a few purses that I was swooning over now I wish I had picked one up. I will call tomorrow and ask if I bought it would shipping home be a possibility. The Hip Zipper DEFINITELY worth a visit if you are visiting Nashville.

Great purse selection!…read more I went here today, and there was a great selection of purses, good selection of clothes and jewelry, and a smaller selection of shoes/boots. The staff was very nice and knowledgeable. Prices seem to be about 35-40 for most things. I would recommend it, and there's a cute Dolly mural outside of it
