Very cool boat launch, marina, RV park and general convenience store right off the river/Pamlico…read more On my first boat outing in the area we put in at a public launch just up the road. We rode the boat around and down to Washington then stopped by here on our return to the launch to drive home. It was getting to the end of the day with the air cooling down and the sun setting. This spot combined with the Blount's Creek that lets out through here made for a wonderfully peaceful and quiet setting. The docks were clean. There's a gas pump with extending hose line so you can fill your boat at the dock. Inside there's an expansive store with shirts, food, snacks, boat and camping supplies. Even tube, kayak and SUP rentals. But I would be remiss not to mention the funny and friendly staff serving up ice cream. It's not 31 flavors but I think most anyone can find something they like out of the 6 or so they have. Looking for a chill out to wrap up a day on the water? This is the place.

Completely at a loss as to how to proceed, massively unprofessional, and this harassing, unprofessional behavior from shop owner/staff has ruined a vacation weekend. - Original post: Refused to return the key to my car after being paid in full for services on a Friday. Claimed they "didn't know" they were paid after agreeing to leave key with the car- we found all of this out when we went to pick the car up after hours, and it was left unlocked without a key sitting on the side of the road outside the shop. Did not make an attempt to arrange to return key until the next week- MASSIVE INCONVENIENCE when I had travel plans for the weekend. Not to mention- leaving a customer's unlocked car sitting on the side of the road with no accessible key for an entire weekend after they have paid and arranged to pick it up? Thank god I had a spare key and figured out what was happening before someone who wanted to steal my car or it's contents did. Incredibly unprofessional, and could've ended very badly, all for a simple oil change. Skip them and head to a dealership, I will next time.
