I'll never darken any doorstep at this mall again!…read more I watched a movie at the theater inside, which I'll also be reviewing. Upon leaving the movie at roughly 9pm, we found the mall doors LOCKED! A staff member of the theater let us out a door from the theater. This meant that we had to walk around the entire outside of the mall to get to our vehicle! The saving grace was, it was a warm clear night. Had it been raining, it would have been awful. Shame on this mall for making patrons walk outside at night, instead of employing a security guard to escort folks through after mall hours. At least post signs so that unsuspecting out-of-town visitors are aware of the circumstances!

This shop appears small, but when you walk inside you won't believe your eyes. Christmas decorations of all different sizes, shapes, colors and styles literally packed floor to ceiling (There were hundreds of items on the ceiling alone). When we walked in we were immediately greeted by a wonderful staff with everyone asking us if we needed something. One lady really took a particular interest in what he was doing and helped him out immensely. While he was on a guided tour of the shop I wandered around. I'm not a Christmas person at all, but was very tempted to take a lot home with me. As it was, I bought a great resin Dog with a light up headband and the price was well within line. I only wish I could get the people I work at the Home Depot where I work to learn that this kind of service will boost sales immensely.

I tried the place I knew but it was closed. Lucky for me, this place was right across the street. I won't bore you with the details of why Vicksburg is a special place to me. Just know that it is. I haven't been in a long time so stopping for coffee brought back some great memories. Anyway, back to the review. This is an incredibly cool place. The clothing is outdoor focused and very stylish. The coffee is very good and rivals most full time coffee houses. Plus it has parish in the name so this Louisiana boy is a fan.

Walking into this department store really takes you back in time. I was informed by the employees that this store was established in 1928, and the present owner was actually born over the store in the same building, also, they told us that a significant number of store display items had been used to stock the Woolworth's store in the movie "O Brother, Where Art Thou?" While there is nothing fancy here, they specialize in carrying and ordering clothes that people need, amazingly, they stock pants up to size 72! I highly recommend this chance to travel back in time!
