This thrift store supports "the big fix" next door which provides discounted spay and neutering services to Mississippi pets and homeless animals. That's what made me check out the place initially. Great store, everything was clean and in good repair. Very reasonable prices and diverse inventory, that kept changing because new item were being put out the entire Time I was there. I'm traveling out of state and was able to cool off in their amazing air conditioning and chat with the wonderful staff. The store helps support low cost spay and neuter of local pets, which is a Nobel cause, if you aren't aware already please research the overpopulation of pets. Not just in the US, but globally. It's heartbreaking. By Helping support this cause, Big Thrift saves lives. And so much fun in the process. I'll be back on the next trip, definitely. If you only have time for one store, make it this one. You won't be disappointed. read more

One of the best thrift shops that I've been to. The place is well managed and everything is arranged nicely. Their mascot dog also brightens the place up. So if you're tiredness of the average thrift/Goodwill experience where things are overpriced and the place is a mess, this place will be a welcome change. read more

The prices were ok. I miss the lady and the female inmates that use to run the store. The guy running the store is well, leaves a lot to be desired! This is the ONLY place to which I donate. I brought a Tahoe full of boxes with household and decor items Tues. of last week NOT ONE OF THE ITEMS I BROUGHT is out! Yet there's not a lot to pick from today. read more

A thrift store so nice we hit it twice -- once on the way to Texas and once on the way home. Located off Hwy 49 S, Florence, MS in a non-descript shopping mall between a hair salon and Dominos pizza. Unless you're a local, the turn can be a challenge off 49 so the Yelp direction function comes in handy. It's 3 Store fronts: 1st is clothes, 2nd glassware, 3rd is broken into serval rooms: books, holiday, toys, electrics, crafting. Be mindful of the sales and don't forget to ask for the senior discount if you are of the age. The shop is very well maintained. The staff is friendly. It DOES NOT have that funky smell that thrift stores often have. I scored a bunch of books and toys on my 1st visit. Nothing on my 2nd. There was an amazing playpen from the 1950s but there was no way for me to get it home. It's worth a stop if your road tripping or if you live local. read more

Upon entering Big Thrift I was greeted with a warm welcome. The store is always neat and clean. The staff works really hard to make each persons shopping experience a good one. I was able to find "that one thing I was looking for" and the prices are great!! Best of all each purchase supports 2 non-profit organizations, Mississippi Spay & Neuter, Big Fix, and MARL. I used to love going in the store when it was in Florence. I would always leave donation for them every time I shopped there. My daughter and I were planning on going today unfortunately we were not allowed in. The man that works in the store shook his hand at us and said she can't come in here very rudely. I was stunned but said ok and walked out. Why are they discriminating kids under 15 or 16 going into the store? Kids are back in school. We had on masks. Unfortunately they permanently lost my business. I hope they are nicer to everyone else. read more
