On a separate note, our kids used to take tennis lessons here but asked us to stop and take them elsewhere. Something about not liking the instructors. We have a full family gold membership. Not worth it. Wouldn't even join on a pool membership if we were to start over because the grill never seems to be open and wifi rarely works. UPDATE: Lowering to 1 star. Last three times we've visited the pool at peak lunch time, the grill has been closed. Their outdoor wifi no longer reaches the pool area. When they rectify these two recurring issues, we'll update the review accordingly. Until then, seek elsewhere.

I feel like there are different types of pole. Some emphasize the workout, others focus on the confidence and dance aspects. I prefer the latter, but Butter & Filth does an amazing job at incorporating all the elements. It feels like a fully balanced space. I have taken a few B&F infusion classes. You are required to start with these before you can sign up for their other classes. It's a three class beginner series. They have two studios now, which are about 5 minutes driving from each other. The class mentions which location it'll take place at. If you're interested in joining this studio, you'll want to sign up for their newsletter to get notified when the registration for B&F infusion is open to signup for (usually at the beginning of the month). It seems like you're required to take it twice before moving on to their normal classes. Do not be discouraged by the pricing here. It's a local business with incredible teachers and a wonderful vibe. You don't only learn a lot, but it feels like an investment in self love. I know that sounds cheesy, but I usually leave classes there feeling inspired and really proud or good about myself. It's an amazing community and I'm excited to continue my journey with them.

There are also themed weeks (anything but clothes, pirates and schoolgirls), slip n slide weeks, and fun gentleman's rules to make it more interesting. Volunteers were hard-working and friendly. 4 opening day rainouts were saved by a tarp and fast moving field crews. Their marquee field only had a 200' fence (normal reg for 50/70 is 250) but they did have a cool outpost in right field, perfect for grabbing photos and video. Plenty of parking in 2 separate lots. If anything could be improved, it would be the field PA systems.

A social summer gathering spot that is kid friendly, unpretentious, and located in a lovely, quiet neighborhood setting. Best feature is the swimming pools (there are four!!) which are kept impeccably clean, as is the rest of the nicely landscaped property. Pools are open from late May through (September- Labor Day). The club has really stepped up its game with the 2018 expansion of the lap pool to 8 lanes and renovating bleacher seating. Snack bar is good, but cash only. Food is as better than you would expect for a poolside snack bar, and super convenient poolside. Lifeguards are attentive & on duty at all times, which is reassuring. They are also very courteous and friendly. The guards manning the diving pool even engage the kids in an entertaining game called "categories" as they jump off the board. Kids love it. There are 9 lighted tennis courts to choose from. All are in spectacular shape. I particularly like courts 8 & 9, which are nestled inside the woods, and great for shade if you catch at the right time. Though the bathrooms/showers/changing rooms are dated, they are kept very tidy. Amenities are numerous: 1. 8 lane lap Pool, with diving blocks 2. Family pool, with two tunnel slides 3. Diving pool, with two boards 4. Kiddie pool for the under 5 set 5. Plenty of lounges, tables & chairs (with umbrellas) 6. Once I got the hang of it, I had tons of fun. We had signed up for an hour and it went by very quickly. One cool part about this place is that they have fun games that you can play while throwing including a hatchet throwing blackjack where the first person to 21 points wins. Overall, this place is a great find and the hour goes by pretty quickly here! They do serve food so I can see this being a great spot for friends or a date night!

There is an emphasis on diversity and experiential learning starting from whatever level you are at. The staff are so welcoming and eager to share their passion and knowledge. The studio is a designated Autism-Friendly Community with staff and studio trained and verified through the Autism Society of Central VA. They have a weekly Sensory Friendly Hip Hop class that is great for neurodiverse kids. Loads of drop in classes. Everyone is so happy to be there, and the camaraderie is infectious. There is a genuine sense of community. RUD has performances with very talented instructors and students. You can check out some of their performances online.
