I've boarded for many years in a variety of different locations and have boarded with Kim for…read moreyears. My horse has been well cared for and the boarders are friendly and helpful. As a boarder I have never had to do any work that I didn't volunteer to do or was paid to help. Kim certainly works hard and tries to hire decent workers. To refute the previous poster, the horses died at the previous barn due to contaminated feed (specified by that facility). There are clinics with outside trainers several times a year and boarders are welcome to trailer out, not allowing outside trainers is standard practice for many facilities. She teaches a variety of skills and abilities and tailors for the level of experience. Her students that are interested in showing perform well and generally place in the ribbons. Horses are fed generous hay, some of the boarder horse groups are on grass, and you can hand graze at any time.

I highly recommend Wild Wind for lessons. They also offer boarding, which seems to be well cared for. However, since I do not have Horse /Stable experience, this is only what I observed in their care for the horses while we visited for lessons.

She takes her time, is super attentive, tough but also supportive and never an instructor that yells. My daughter has been riding here for over 5 years and still loves it. There are boarding facilities in the "lower" barn which has its own brand new indoor riding ring, and lesson horses are in the "upper" barn which also has its own indoor riding ring with a sand floor. The upper riding ring is the old banquet hall and has the same large windows, spotlights and even the disco ball from the halls heyday. Birthday horse parties are fantastic we have attended 3 here and Kristina does an awesome job. First time lesson goers need a helmet (bike will do at first) and heeled shoes, this would honestly be the best place ever to start your horseback riding.
