My cousin threw a party here and it was amazing. The service was phenomenal from the bartenders and the ambiance was phenomenal.

I have tried most things on the menu and have never made a bad choice. Their pizzas are spectacular - dough which is tasty, springy and light with a crispy bottom, absolutely perfect for dipping in your friend's spag bol! They make their own secret recipe tomato sauce, which is AMAZING. (Actually it's not a secret recipe at all - Raff will happily share how he makes it, but it sounds more intriguing as a secret!) They have a daily specials board that includes local seasonal produce in really imaginative dishes. I have gone into the kitchen to watch the chefs making a crab ravioli, moments before I ate it! (It was sublime!) Their desserts are too good. They have their regular items such as the tiramisu which melts in the mouth and the Italian ice cream that has real bits of strawberry, pistachio, vanilla seeds and chocolate in it. They also have special desserts that often are just too tempting - sticky toffee pudding, Eton mess with mango, interesting cheesecakes etc. The coffee is delicious and just perfect after a scrumptious meal there! The service is lovely and the atmosphere is down to earth, fun and friendly. I would urge you to go - if you go on a Thursday/Friday/Saturday you might want to book as it is extremely popular with locals.

I had lunch here yesterday with a girlfriend on a LS voucher and was really, really happy with it…read more The service is excellent and the food was delicious and well presented. I loved the photo of Michael Corleone on the back wall. Seriously, who doesn't want to have lunch with a Corleone? I've knocked off one star for two reasons. First, we sat by the window and there was a disturbing amount of fruit flies. I think we could all agree insects shouldn't be invited into restaurants. The second knock off was because we were overcharged on the upgrades by at least a pound-fifty (maybe more, I wasn't paying too much attention). I tipped well and rounded up, so I didn't mention it...but you may not want to. Not everyone has lived in Las Vegas, so not everyone tips 25% on what the bill WOULD be without a voucher. I will say this: knowing we were on a voucher and not knowing what we would actually spend, the waiter still gave us fantastic service. That says a lot. The food.... Starters: SALMONE AFFUMICATO and MEDITERRANEAN GAMBERONI. Both really good. The smoked salmon was pretty standard, the shrimp was amazing. If you can't stomach traditional Italian with head-on shrimp, skip the Gamberoni. I like it, so it warrants 5 stars from me. Main: RIBEYE STEAK and LINGUINI SALMONE. Why do they call it linguine when it is described and served as penne? I'm not sure. I don't particularly care since it was so good. Creamy, rich, perfect. The steak was cooked to order, tender, and tasty. If you are paying full price you'll find it on the small side. We found it to be just right for lunch. I had a cappuccino after, my friend had both of our glasses of wine that came with the meal (plus another after). Overall, I rate this 4 stars and would definitely return!

Right - a few visits have passed since last time and AGAIN I can only give a 3 star review , where…read moreI would like to give a 7/10 rating. And there's been an improvement - still nudging the pricey side of a local restaurant and some dishes looking a little on the small size, but there's a definite change for the more authentic Sardegna-originated dishes all be they hampered as ever by London sourced ingredients. 'Sheep' prosciutto crudo was robust and interesting, 'buratta' looked hearty and just about rustic enough for my tastes (I always wish restaurants would pay more for their ingredients and less for the time it takes to twat around beautifying what's on the plate). SEPPIE with puréed beans stater were pretty good but a little on the liquid side as a whole; Maiale Ubriaco was a good size portion (drunken pig, chef must have had a few while thinking up the bizarre dish names) and was supposed to come with truffle potatoes but seemed to have settled in a bed of garlic, smokey mash with broccoli that didn't taste at all like truffles. Learnt from past mistakes and ordered 2 side orders and didn't feel underfed ! Only real disaster (which I admit I didn't taste... or want to!) was the Pesto which looked decidedly anaemic and stodgy. I never have the courage to order pesto at restaurants because I know they'll get it wrong and Mine will be better , so I need to find someone to order one on my behalf next time!) Many people have mentioned the ice cream but now the novelty flavours have worn off I have to say they are a bit on the average side for Italian ice cream and really don't deserve more than 50%. So - better, still some work to do... all In all though a more expensive but pleasant enough meal!

I was craving Italian and wanting to try something new, so I looked up reviews in Yelp and their…read morewebsite and thought that this would be worth a look. In fact, it appeared that it was high end, fine Italian dining with gorgeous food and a lovely setting. My sister and I drove over to Brockley from Penge, and since it was a Sunday evening, I was able to park almost outside the restaurant. We had phoned ahead to see if we needed to book a table, and they assured me I didn't. We walked up to the door, where annoyingly two people were standing having a cigarette. we walked through the noxious cloud, into the restaurant, hastily followed by said two people, who were actually staff. In fact I believe that one of them was the manager. The restaurant is divided into two, and one half was being used as a children's party venue. Since I had phoned up to ask about tables, I thought that they might have mentioned the party, as it was horrendously loud. I love kids, but not 30 over-excited, hopped-up on sugar, screaming children while I'm trying to have high end fine Italian cuisine! We were shown to a little table that felt like it was in a corridor, and although we asked about the vast number of empty tables in the back restaurant area, we were not allowed to sit there. It honestly felt very tatty, a little dirty and not at all like the website had promised. The food in there is pretty expensive, but at this point I had no confidence that it was going to be any good. As we sat down, my sister put her hand on the radiator that was by the table, as it was pretty chilly and I was (as usual) cold. The manager immediately asked if we wanted to have the radiator turned on. Yes please, we answered. Well you can't, came the rather astounding reply! The manager lent over us, gave us about 5 pieces of paper each (which together made some sort of menu) but stank so much of the cigarette that he had just put out, that it made us feel sick. That coupled with the bad table, 30 screaming children and arctic temperatures was enough for us. We left and went to Babour!
