HCP is Portugal's oldest jazz club, and I finally found my way there on the last day of my stay in Lisboa, a Tuesday evening. Concert of the night (they have concerts almost every night - some free, some not) was a series of examination recitals from students of a local jazz school. 50% of the audience in the small room was friends and family to the musicians, and the rest seemed to be genuine jazz lovers. The atmosphere was relaxed and the performance from the young musicians was impressing. The bar menu is very basic and fairly cheap, I had a glass of port wine for 3€. The staff was friendly and happy. HCP is a must visit for any jazz lover in Lisboa.

If you're a tourist, this is more about supporting locals. Nothing historic, just lots of cool art. If you're local, I imagine this is the place to get cool unique things. He had a lot if different bags of dried "goodies", which My best guesses are dried berries of different sorts. Gin & tonic seems to be their signature drink here but I'm sure they have good wine and decent draft of beers. I liked the chill environment but the only thing I could not stand was the fact that some othe customers smoke inside the bar on the upper level.!I believe it is legal here? I'm not sure but if you don't mind the smoke, it would be a 5 star experience for you!

The place gets an A plus for a modern decor and the drinks were very reasonable. They do not take credit cards.
