It's a thrift shop, sure, like any other - but not like any other. You can donate your clothes here and get points to shop with! Basically, if you bring in your old clothes then you get half off on the new-used items here. It's a lot of fun - the shop is colourful, kitschy and vibrant, and when I was there it was haphazardly sorted after decade. They use old records and lamps and posters in their décor, and even the dressing rooms are glamorous. It's a true treasure trove, with a lot of junk but great gems as well, like any second hand store. And the atmosphere and opportunity to swap in your old items makes it a favourite for me! I found an adorable 30s-looking floral dress, probably from the 60s or 70s, but definitely with vintage flair. It was 90 kronor - just 45 if you drop off donations. How can you beat that? Hopefully they open in Stockholm soon!

The store is huge and basically of all the shopping mall (Taby Centrum)'s third floor is devoted to this store and a few independents. The staff seemed friendly - even though there was a language barrier which was probably more common here with Taby being just outside of Stockholm centre (not the most touristy area), and they really did try to help however they can. For a store of its' kind I would have expected a better hardware selection including tools and perhaps strong glues however the product range here was pretty good with most items being reasonably priced but there remained a few exceptions to this observation. A pretty large Clas Ohlson store obviously and it did impress me enough to warrant four-stars.

Get off at Arninge, then up the elevator, across the road down the escalator then outside where you will see Costco. Your US Costco membership card will not scan here but they will let you in and your membership card will scan at checkout. The feel of the store is typical Costco however open your eyes to the things that you can't find in the USA. We are here for a month so I could buy some stuff but I did not overload my card. My first buy is a 4.5 pound tin of Quality Chocolate. I bought 2. I had this at Christmas as a little girl. Allowing for the exchange rate, it ran me about $28 vs Amazon's $85. They also had a big bucket of swedish candy which local grocers have in their big bins. Even I couldn't eat that much candy. Produce was fresh. There is no $4.99 chicken here. That chicken is about double. Two years ago the Sushi was relatively cheap. This time it was double what I paid in San Francisco. Nice selection of new cheeses for us. I found a container of beetroot salad or at least I think that is what it was. I hate beets, but this is good. Got a package of Falukorv which is kind of like trail bologna. Oranges were reasonably priced as was the mixed salad greens. The cherry tomatoes smelled great but they were quite a bit higher than the USA. I will say that I do find produce I get in Sweden is tastier. Checkout procedure is the same and you show your receipt at the door. Unless you are driving, bring shopping bags. They sell liquor but it always seem closed the times we are there. It is winter now and most of the walking areas are icy so wear good shoes. Yes there are samples. There is no $1.50 hot dog but they do have hotdogs. Be prepared that things are labeled in Swedish. Be adventurous. Try things you can only find in Sweden. And pricing...well at the moment the exchange rate isn't as good as 2 years ago. But I move the decimal point and add a little extra. That's why I passed on those $10 tomatoes.

This thrift store is large and well sorted…read more You can find everything from glass ware and household goods to books and toys and even sunglasses. Their clothing section is huge - and nice. Children, men and women. Babies clothes are hardly used and really cute. Price tags are SEK10-20 for baby clothing and around SEK50 for adults. Winter jackets and coats are SEK100-400. Shoes are clean and nice, some never used, SEK80. The shoes are not well worn. Most glass and china are SEK10-20. It is clean and perfectly ok.

Then I moved to the suburbs and found this place! Proper mani/pedis with cutting cuticles (if you want), massage, foot scrub, callus remover, etc. You walk out with perfect polish, nails feeling clean. Just like back home.
