This sculpture is located in the middle of a roundabout near the intersection of the streets where the "troubles" started and at first glance, from a bit of a distance, I thought it was a light bulb and wondered which local electricity company had sponsored it.
However as I got closer, saw it was actual a circle within another circle, and our guild told us it was meant to represent the two formerly warring communities of Northern Ireland, meant to symbolize "rising" together, intertwined and codependent on each other.
This sculpture didn't impact me visually as much as the 'Beacon of Hope' sculpture but I do think it's meaning is deeper. However the meaning does need to be explained by a tour guide or reading the plaque because honestly just by looking at it, the meaning is not clear.
Well worth a look if you are in the area but for my tastes, I'd be okay to miss checking it out.
