I'm writing another review. I took my ceramic pipes up here to sell on consignment in 2017. Subsequently, I called and texted to ask for my money and pieces. I finally reviewed and heard from Jennifer, the owner. She said to call. I did and she and I agreed I'd come out to her shop. I had to plan the trip, because I live in Portland. Also, I've been struggling. I called and talked to a woman, who said she'd let Jennifer know to call me. I got a text and tried to communicate about coming out. I decided to go there on the weekend in September, over one month ago. It was closed during business hours. I took a picture and sent it to show that I was there. I then asked for my work to be sent and to be paid, which is fair. I even sent it via postal mail. This shop is a cool one, and I hope to get my work back. I stopped in last night, for the first time, and was amazed by how cool this shop is. The selection is much bigger than you might expect, and there is so much more on offer than just vessels for smoking. Bring anyone who likes to browse cool shops and they'll probably find something here. I brought a friend with me and he ended up buying more than I did. The only person who works here is the owner and she's very friendly and helpful. I showed up so late that I ended up staying long after closing (I feel bad about that), but she never tried to rush me. There are just so many options and I had trouble making a decision. I finally narrowed it down to 3 bongs, and she filled them all with water so I could try them. I was not only given a good deal, but I got the perfect bowl to go with it. I'd take a photo, but now that it's been used it's not pristine-looking. Speaking of good deals: The prices here really are great. For the longest time I have only owned a single pipe because I just can't stomach the prices of glass nowadays. Most times we see it is in a dispensary and that stuff is SO overpriced. Rip City Glass has something for every person and every budget. Heck, even the more-expensive, artistic pieces don't cost nearly as much as some of basic, "big brand" stuff I've seen. On a final note: If you're unsettled by the rating, read the negative reviews; they are either old, they complain simply about the shop not being open, or they are detailing something in which we'd need both sides of the story to make any real judgement. Don't recommend buying anything from this shop if you try and return it she states she doesn't owe you anything after you give item back to the owner. Did you think that you had to drive into the city to find a cool old building that appears to be held together by tenacious blue paint that was hated back in the '80s? That the store is a death trap for anyone with larger than a 36" waist should flames come a knockin'? C'mon Bob! How morose! OK, then let me say that if you think you are just going to " pop in for a quick look-see" let me be the first person to laugh in your face. The front windows will be your last warning not to go in unless you have the afternoon free. Damn. Just damn. Kitchen goodies? Kraton? Earrings for as many holes one might have? Clothing? Candles? Oh, indeed. All of it. SCADS of it. Now. If someone would hit the Voice of God button... THE BEST HEAD EQUIPMENT I have seen!! Is there better in our fair country? Probably. Better than PDX? Rip Glass might just smack a few bottoms in our rather snug Stumptown. Very little standard Chinese imports, though nice enough pieces, but Rip excels in interesting hand work. Yeah, they've got crazy room sized bongs, but they have very nice glasswork that will set nicely next to your PC on your desk at work or wherever. The owner lady will be there, she lives there, near as I can tell. She is a goddess. Blond hair, always has her entourage, two foo-foo dogs that are adorable. She will be the one with a cellphone and wireless landline talking into both, looking for something she knows she carries,.. somewhere, and then make the time to give you a sweet hello and swears someone will be with you. Beyond being amusing to watch and to talk to, she really does have an encyclopedic knowledge of her products, as well as a healthy level of experience using her delightful wares. Is the Rip in Rip City a clue about prices? No and I think that she should be making much more money than she might make. I would recommend that if any of this or more amuse you, I'd be over there putting away some of her trinkets. Her goodies make wonderful gifts to stash away when you need something fast. This sort of thing is where I buy odd things for odd people before the Holiday Rush Things to note: busses run by, doorways and shop overhangs make up for no covered bus stops. Folks with challenges? Oy. Not your shop to visit? Not without a jet pack? I would check. I'd bet they would accommodate you by bringing things out to see, or take pictures while you are there. It's that kind of shop GO! You guys are freaking me out just staring at me! Ooo. One other bit: they pass the 4% the bank charges them to accept your card. That means cash is a better way to shop. And a good way not to drain all of your credit limit on dustables you really could live without Go, now--shoo! Sprinkle money all over the valley! The owner Jen is awesome she's helpful knowledgeable and makes you feel right at home. You can really tell she cares about her customers by how hard she works to make sure they get what they came for. She also does free gift wrapping. I drove all the way from Portland 28 miles one way to get to their store. So to make sure they had what I wanted I called ahead and asked specifically for wax liquidizer original no flavor, the person on the phone said no problem we have three different kinds of that product. BEWARE! Purchased a $55 dollar piece of glass that shattered the first time I used it!!! They do not have a return policy. The employee Kyle (who sold me the piece a hour before it broke) took down my information over the phone but was hesitant, didn't even ask for my contact info when I asked to leave a message saying I was coming back three days later to speak to the owner (this was is the soonest I can be helped-talk about customer service), and didn't even seem to care. This is not satisfactory. I hope they refund me or replace my piece. read more

3 Strikes and I'm out! Due to my rural location, RCG is the nearest head shop to me by a good distance. So it made sense to check them out. My failure was in giving them not only a second chance, but even a third. First visit I purchased a water pipe. The girl took it off the shelf, handed it to me to examine, then took it back and wrapped it and sent me on my way. When I got home I discovered that the ceramic glaze had drips on the bottom causing it to wobble badly on the table. I fixed it myself, but I shouldn't have had to for a $25 water pipe. Second visit I purchased a small pipe that turned out to be made like crap. The carb hole is so small a pipe cleaner won't go through it, same as the hole in the bowl. While I should have examined it closer, it was just the second shoddy item I got from them. Third, and worst strike: I knew nothing about vapes. The girl sold me a vape pen and said that yes, I could certainly smoke flower in it but to be careful of the heat coil. I depend on skilled precision with my hands for work. I was extremely careful with it. The pen quit working within 12 hours. I took it back and they said the owner would be in touch. TWO WEEKS LATER the owner calls me and said it was all my fault and he wouldn't honor a refund. Complete asshole. I haven't shopped there in over a year now. I will spend the extra time and fuel to go into Portland now. BUYER BEWARE!!! read more
