Outside of the Lanes, there are a couple of jewelry shops just perching on the edge of the area. Rina Tairo is one of these, and is unique in that it only sells the pieces of one artist. Tairo's pieces are certainly peculiar, often using fine spun metal to create delicate, intricate and fragile looking pieces of jewelry. It is absolutely beautiful, and well worth looking at, even if they are exceptionally expensive to purchase.
The shop itself is tiny, with barely enough space to stand and turn. However, do pop in when you're in the area: the pieces are truly beautiful, and the artist will wax lyrical about them, if she is in. There are some cheaper pieces, but even those are well out of most people's price range. It is a shame, they are completely original and beautiful, but I know I'd just fret about something so expensive and dainty, as I think most would.
If you can afford such a piece, swing by now: they're the most original pieces you'll find in all Brighton. If you can't, go look anyway: they are truly gorgeous. read more
