It's mostly unknown but there is a trailhead in the back corner of the park to a new off-road bike trail that is much more cross-country and laid back compared to those out at Manchester. With these things, the soccer fields, football field, and access to a golf course this park has activities for nearly everyone and that's good for a community. There used to also be a RC track here but I guess it was done away with when the big track off 378 was built.

With all of our experience in boating, my family and I can confirm that Wateree Marina has been the best move thus far. Their owner, his wife, and everyone else who works there knows our names. And they all go out of their way to make sure all of our needs are met. (within reason) When our boat needs repair work, which all boats do, their mechanic Randy ensures it is done correctly. For example, I'll never forget one 4th of July several years ago when Jamie, who is the sales person at Wateree, came to pick something up from work. Jamie was already aware that we were camping at the camp ground across the river that week on our vacation. He quickly found us sitting at the dock with our boat that refused to start. Even on his day off, Jamie stopped to help us. He put a new starter in our boat right then and there, just so that we could enjoy our family vacation. The Wateree Marina has consistently been a positive influence in our boating experience, and I can assure that they will provide the same for anyone who comes across the beauty of Lake Wateree. It's now a very nice looking little park and it's got a spray park attached which is touch-activated on a 10 minute timer. We took our daughter there on a nice Saturday morning and was surprised to find it empty considering how beautiful of a day it was. She had a blast in the spray park.

The annual July 4th event is the biggest in the area and is great for families. The park also features a farmer's market one day a week, and other events featuring food trucks and vendors. There is ample parking, picnic tables and a historic town hall. One event that is fun for the kids is the painted rock hunt. People have painted rocks and have scattered them throughout the area kids can pick them up as they see them, take pictures of them, and hide them for others to find. This is a great park!
