We were able to hang out downstairs in the breakfast area that evening. It was nice to be able to catch up and watch for other family members to show up. I love the decor of the lobby and the staff were pretty helpful and friendly. There's a bowl of apples and water available when you check in. They have a small fitness center that has a refillable water station. This place has an indoor pool and jacuzzi (separate areas). They only had 2 Queens available instead of a King but that was okay. The room and hotel common areas were clean. The air conditioner works great. Water pressure was good and it got hot fast. Our room had a small refrigerator and microwave. It had a desk, full length mirror and luggage shelf. Beds and pillows were comfortable. Breakfast was good. They have scrambled eggs, omelettes and hard boiled eggs. The oatmeal had 11 different toppings (the most I've seen at any hotel we've stayed at). Other offerings: biscuits and gravy. Bagels, bread and English muffins to toast. Mini muffins, bananas, yogurt, milk, orange juice and apple juice. Waffle station. The only thing they didn't have was sausage or bacon. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.

But so far, this place is knocking it out of the park. Will update in AM. Has a microwave and dorm fridge. No freezer compartment. Plan accordingly. TV is kind of a mess to figure out. I requested a room with a city view because you have to this time of year when the lights are on display. My room had two bathrooms and two closets in it. It doesn't get much better than that. Front desk staff was extremely helpful. This time of year they have it beautifully decorated for the holidays. They have Christmas trees that are not just for decoration but for sale as well as individual ornaments which I thought was an interesting but festive touch. They have a bar and a restaurant inside the hotel itself. They offer a small complimentary breakfast in the mornings (wish they had a few more options). They also host weddings and events in their event space and conference room. I can't wait to return. If you love the beauty Of history like I do, this is a must stay!
