Beautiful library. The Roosevelt window is a stellar piece of art as well as the murals that decorate the outside of the building.

The library was so inviting and I could hear the sound of happy children on a Tuesday morning event while browsing the books on sale. I did not have cash or credit card so did not leave with any books, but know I can come back before 7 pm on a weekday! The bathrooms were super clean and the whole place looked modern. It was built in 2008 but looks much newer and well-kept. The librarian suggested I go upstairs and this was the real treat. I must have looked like I wanted something, so the upstairs librarian helped me find a biography on Oppenheimer as their book of Prometheus Unbound was checked out, which was the book the recent movie was based which I watched on my plane ride yesterday. I saw some comfy seats by the window with amazing views of the river, so I read in peace and quiet. I plan to come back each day to read another chapter! It was such an inviting space and a hub of community activities. If I lived here, I would come daily. Amazing hours-they open at 8 am on weekdays! Don't miss the second floor if you like beautiful views and peaceful, relaxing places to read. Shout out to the friendly librarians here!

In my opinion, Allison is a world-class children's librarian in that she knows how to really engage her audience on a first name basis--I suspect she could have majored in child development or the dramatic arts by the way she performs stories aloud. I recommend bringing your toddler to this program even if I had to put a mask on my child and fly across the country to see it. It was a such blessing to listen to Heather et al accompany Allison's oration with a violin and viola pair--what a dream team. What I personally like most about this library are the periodical selections on the subtopics of investing and aviation. I enjoy watching AARP members researching investments on nearby tables as if their lives depended on the effort. I also like the DVD and CD selection in the basement. If I had believed my brother or knew the town was this amazing, I think I would have visited sooner!
