Thoroughbred Construction are dishonest bullies. I was contacted by Chad Dowdy to build them what…read morehe said was a gift to their company's owner, Michael Roth. Despite it being a reported gift, it was paid for and commissioned by Thoroughbred Construction. I provided no timeline estimate for the completion of the items, and none was requested. He placed a deposit through a company credit card. This was right in the middle of the busiest time of year for me, compounded by moving across the country from the east coast to California. I regrettably missed three messages on social media from Chad asking for an update on the project over the course of 11 days. At that point he flew off the chain, emailed me threatening that his boss (Michael Roth) was growing impatient waiting for his gift and intended to have their lawyer file suit, presumably for the $340 deposit they had placed. He also written a negative review for me online in which he accused me of being a fraud, and actually contacted my wife, who has no role in the business and no idea who he was. Chad played it as if it was all the owner that was being impatient, and not him, trying to justify his own intentionally hurtful, dishonest, libelous actions. After seeing his email I provided him an update on his project which was close to completion, and offered him a refund. He did not want a refund, despite accusing me of being a fraud and scammer in his online review that he had already made. He said if I just sent him a picture of the items in their current state, perhaps that would be enough to keep his boss at bay and keep him from contacting his lawyer. I obviously had no actual concern of a lawsuit and knew this was just a bully trying to throw his weight around to get what he wanted. He refused my offer for a refund, and wanted the items completed and delivered instead. I sent him photos, which he said looked "awesome", completed the project entirely about a week later. Thoroughbred Construction paid the remaining balance, the items were shipped the following day and delivered successfully by UPS. At that point I contacted Chad about his libelous review that he had left, and as of this date, 3 months later, despite another request, have not received a response. In kind, I am sharing my experience with Thoroughbred Construction. Chad is a bully, and his boss, Michael Roth is as well, unless Chad misrepresented the entire scenario in order to make it seem like his boss was the bad guy, and he was just doing his bosses dirty work. Thats entirely plausible, but who knows. Chad appears to be integral to the day to day operations of Thoroughbred Construction, and thus this review reflects the company as a whole and not just their Vice President Chad.

Casey ripped me off worse than anyone in my life!!! I'd called him out to do my gutters and he…read morebrought his "girlfriend" Erica. I mentioned I wanted to put siding and a metal roof on. They said they were just getting into that business and could give me a great price because they had a distributorship in sheet metal. I called them up when I had the money together. The "girlfriend" came out and got a check for $5,000 from me. A week or so later she had a couple guys drop off the siding in my yard. I NEVER HEARD FROM HER AGAIN! She wouldn't take my calls. I was able to get hold of Casey and he CLAIMED she ripped him off too and he had nothing to do with her anymore. Interesting, because since then my sources have seen her in and out of his house right next door to Granny's head shop... Casey's family. So Casey came out to do the install but made me pay AGAIN for the roofing materials. I'd already paid Erica for the roofing and Casey, as a business owner and as a man, would NOT make it right. Additionally, he left nails everywhere in my grass and put a window in upside down. Now, through another contractor, I have learned Casey put the drip edge on wrong. It goes under the metal at the bottom of your roof. He put it on TOP of the roofing. Apparently, this is the WORST thing you can do installing metal roofing. It causes your facia and rafters to rot out in as soon as a year. Putting the drip edge on top of the roofing, I was told by another contractor, is so bone-headed it would be like a baker making you a birthday cake and forgetting the icing. I wholeheartedly, therefore, believe Casey did this on purpose because he was actually mad at all the stuff I said about the girlfriend he actually never broke up with. If so, that means they stole $2500 from me and screwed me on the roof for good measure. Oh yeah, by having the siding dropped off Erica protected herself from criminal charges because delivering the siding counted as her doing "one thing" before running off with my money. I learned from the police she's been in a lot of trouble with the law so she's a professional con artist. I messaged Casey about the drip edge to no response. Listen, these are BAD BAD people who will steal, cheat and do you wrong. Do NOT do business with them or you might be writing a review like this one day yourself.
