I grew up going to the Ridge and have so many excellent memories - tennis workshops, rock climbing, hiking, and snow shoes. I recently took my new husband to show him around and Lisa S. was an incredible concierge and so helpful in allowing us to tour the facility. Thank you, Lisa! You went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Hope to be an owner again one day.

    Nice selection of gear.

This is a review specifically for the ski shop at The Ridge (my previous review for the accommodations has been moved to Ridge Holiday Inn Vacation Rentals). As unit owners we usually spend an hour reviewing changes to our options, but there was an issue with our reservation today, so we decided to check out the ski shop next to the sales and marketing area in the Preview Center building instead. This was a pleasant experience. They have a great selection of gear - helmets, goggles, boots, skis, snowboards and so on - at very reasonable prices. The person behind the counter was very helpful and answered all our questions. Next time we will rent from here instead of renting and hauling our gear from home.

I have stayed in Ridge Tahoe several times. I think this is a much better deal compare to the hotels in the casino area. I just don't understand some of the negative reviews. If you want to relax in a resort, stay away from the the noise and large crowds and have quick access to ski lift, then this is the right place. You can hike around the resort or do snow shoeing. The gym, pool and the bistro are nice. So far I have not experienced any issues that are worth mentioning.

Been many years since I've been here and had a bad experience before but this time things were so much better. Service and maintenance was helpful and prompt the rooms were spacious and furniture nice and comfy. They have sleep number beds now which was cool. A few small items such as no transition strip over carpet/tile entry to bathroom so the pokey nail strip was exposed and you had to make sure you didn't step on it at night on way to bathroom (which I did once, ouch!) we had a hot water issue a few mornings but they sent maintenance out a few times and the guy fixed it up for the rest of our stay. Also the parking garage was basically the designated smoking area so that was kinda annoying when you'd be loading and unloading your car, or even just coming and going it was terrible since the smoke just lingers and is strong. The security hut guys were pretty easy to deal with just show your pass and they open the gate to come in without you having to stop.

This is our third visit here but the first time since Holiday Inn Club Vacations bought it. Overall I haven't seen too much change besides the spa being closed. Not sure if it will come back or not. Located on of the mountain it can be dangerous to drive, especially during the winter if you do not know how to drive in the snow. Ensure to pay attention to the signs if snow tires or snow chairs are mandatory to go up the one hill. If you aren't confident in your abilities go around and go up through the other side (closer to CA). There are great views and plenty of activities to do. Most buildings have a hot tub and the main building has an indoor/outdoor pool. They also have activities that you can sign up for such as snowman building classes as well as movie nights. They have a van that takes you down to Bally's casino and back so you don't have to worry about getting a taxi/Uber or drive yourself. You can easily walk to the other casinos, shops, movie theater, pharmacy, and restaurants from there if you don't want to stay at Bally's. Just ensure to keep track of your time to know when the last shuttle leaves to go back to The Ridge. They also have a tramway to go from the lodge to the skiing area.

I don't want to sounds like a miserable serial complainer with first world problems so my review will be written as positive as possible. I believe this hotel has potential; like mega potential. Like an ultra large amount of hidden potential that's not at all obvious when you stay here. It's not a bad hotel. It's just not a good hotel....yet. I stayed here via Interval. So exactly how much potential you say? Our home timeshare is roughly 993x better than the ridge at Tahoe. That's quite a bit of potential wouldn't you say? I can feel it from my loins to my groins that this place can turn it around. Rise up front the ashes and become a beautiful hotel it was meant to be. I mean I love how Ridge at Tahoe doesn't allow you to open windows. Instead, they just give you fans to recirculate hot air back onto yourself. I'm a big fan of the smell of onions and garlic, and on a hot day that you're sweating onions, this allows me to smell the breakfast I had and I am delighted to relive those wonderful moments through its wonderful aroma. What's better is that they have random subliminal messages throughout the hotel, it's sorta like a hidden Mickey if you're a Disney fan. I found one that says "Refuse". Refuse what? No clue, but I plan to refuse something today. And lastly, I've personally always wanted to know what it's like to traverse the halls of a nursing home from the 1940s, and this place allows me to travel back to another time. Ok being positive is really hard work. F@&$#% it, this place &$%#@& sucks!!!!

We have stayed here a couple times now. The location is a bit remote, which is nice. As COVID problems are starting to wane, the Ridge Tahoe is starting to feel more like a resort again, with things like tennis lessons, movies, bingo, table tennis, billiards, pools, an onsite bistro, etc. The full suite includes two bathrooms, two bedrooms, a full kitchen, and a wet bar in the main bedroom. It sleeps six quite comfortably. The view from the room is unpredictable. One time we had a beautiful view of the sun over the mountains. This time we had a view of a wall. Sometimes we don't have enough bath towels, they forget a sheet, etc. They have been always quick to try to remedy these things, though sometimes it takes a couple attempts. For example, one time housekeeping didn't come on the appointed day so we asked for some towels and sheets. Instead, they brought us three sets of sheets, about twenty pillow cases, and no towels. Eventually we got what we needed. For our two week stay, our room was only "cleaned" once, and I'm not really even sure what was done. Nothing seemed to be cleaned, and the carpet was not vacuumed. There is no air conditioning, and the portable ones they provided are louder than a train, and pretty worthless. Overall there is still some work to do. They are working on getting hot tubs and a sauna working again, and mini golf is still coming. It will be nice when the full restaurant reopens. They are still clearly understaffed. My hope is that, as we distance ourselves from the pandemic, the experience will improve. Also, you just might see some deer out and about as you walk to your room.

After reading some reviews, I was nervous about the stay. However, everything has been smooth sailing for us! We are throughly impressed with the property and will absolutely be back! Check in process was easy and they were so informative. They provided an activity book, full of information and all of the on-site opportunities to engage in. They also gave us a map and explained the property. We love the ski in/ ski out lift that is available by the clubhouse! This is a huge perk for people skiing and snowboarding and makes it such an easy experience. The room is nice and clean. Everything was perfectly clean and organized upon our arrival. We have a 2 bedroom, 2 bath in Naegel 11 building. The only downfall is that our outdoor building hot tub is covered in snow we have to walk to the building next to us to use their hot tub and sauna. The beds are comfortable, closet space is large and a even a coat closet that worked perfectly for snowboard storage. The main and second bedrooms are separated by the living area so each room has some privacy. Each room also has access to the connected patio area. The washer and dryer are located in the pantry of the kitchen. We love having everything accessible in our unit. There are also plenty of towels for everyone. There is a small wet bar that is a nice little perk. There is even a plug in humidifier which has been very nice to use at nighttime. We aren't used to cold, dry air so using the humidifier at night has been great. There is an electric fireplace that provides a cozy feel and puts out quite a bit of heat. The shower pressure was nice. We participated in tie dye activity and snow shoe tour. The tie dye was fun and snow shoe tour was amazing! Jeff was great at explaining what to do and his snow shoe tour was super cool. There were 8 other people on our tour and he educated us on many mountain facts and made constant stops/breaks for the slower people. The snow shoes are provided for free by the resort! Such a great experience. Security at the entrance gate has been a breeze. You just keep your sign in the window and they wave you by. The clubhouse has a gym with free weights and machines, racketball courts, a pool, hot tub, billiards room, activities room for kids, and Bistro. We are looking forward to coming back!

This resort is at the very top of the summit, about 7500 feet. The bad thing is you cannot walk anywhere because the town is a 10 minute drive. But it is so quiet and peaceful that it was well worth it. The bar and the bistro are closed Mondays and Tuesdays otherwise you can grab a drink and a bite to eat. Of course the staff is fantastic. There is an indoor outdoor heated pool and we swam daily in the indoor section. The pool could've been cleaned a little more often as the trees dump a lot of debris into the water Our room was small but clean. I would've liked more than one little window to open as I prefer a lot of fresh air & a nice view

The Ridge in Tahoe has been my favorite place for vacation! There's so many activities to do including my favorite art classes. Most importantly, I love the Ridge because of the friendly staff. Honorable mentions include Laurie from the marketplace, Francesca from the art activities, Kelly from the activities desk, Teresa and Jackie from the marketplace and Adam from tennis! As a kid growing up, visiting during the summers always were so memorable and fun! Swim lessons, bingo, art classes, racquetball, gym. Disappointed that rock climbing taught by Rob was discontinued! Looking forward to my next trip up!!

This is a bait and switch con The Ridge Tahoe (Tower) is a very nice resort. I booked a week at this resort in September 2023. They are affiliated with several lower value (2 or 3 star level resorts). When we checked in we were assigned one of these lesser value resorts. They claim these resorts are all part of their resort, although they are a half mile away, outside the secure guardhouse area and a10 minute drive to go to The swimming pool. Additionally, the suite was filthy, see photos. I complained at the registration desk (a 10 minute drive, past the security guardhouse) and was told a manager would contact me regarding these issues. There's been no follow up all week, even after showing them the state of filth. Socks actually stuck to the floor in the kitchen. No one showed up too clean the place. Complete indifference. Beware if you book here. Bait and switch.

This year, a sewer line in the lake broke meaning no running water. After several calls, Brandon had no alternative place for our family to stay. We ended up in a hotel with bags and boxes all around us. We paid for that experience on top of the house rental. He only returned our money for the house after several more phone calls and several more days. The agreed upon morning we left Tahoe and returned to the house to pick up the last of our belongings in the garage, he had his cleaning lady there on the phone to him telling us we had to leave. We told her she could start cleaning and that we would be out of there ASAP. But Brandon called my husband to tell him to hurry and get out. We were easily going to be out before the 11:00 deadline. Why be so unkind if the house had no running water and was unable to be used? RUN, do not walk away from Brandon. He is disreputable. As an update: Brandon messaged my husband to call me a liar about this review. (There were 5 adults on our trip who experienced this.) His unprofessionalism in texting us after what we went through because his feelings were hurt by reading an honest review, just makes my point even stronger. Second update: 8 days after getting home, Brandon is still calling me a liar. Please do read other recent reviews. One on Birdeye just 3 months ago, describes Brandon's response to renters in a situation they had no control of and his follow up contact after reading their reviews which was described as "aggressive and disrespectful." Brandon gets very few details right of this bigger picture he creates below 1. We were not met at the front door when we returned from our day around the lake. There was a team of Douglas county workers out back. They DID NOT say that the damage was solely due to lake levels and DID NOT say that it hadn't been repaired because of lake levels. They were concerned with fixing the line at all (although other properties were able to be fixed that DO NOT share this same wall) because the sea wall at this property was not built properly nor being repaired in the proper way, According to the professionals, the cost of doing it correctly was a point of contention. Douglas county couldn't cough up the ten grand and the owner wasn't either. The line would continue to break each time the waves got rough. One worker commented, "I can't believe they rented this place out." 2. We did not store ALL of our belongings in the garage. We spent 2 days cleaning out the house of 2/3 of our belongings which we crammed into 2 hotel rooms for 5 people. Only the things we couldn't fit stayed in the garage because we couldn't afford another room and Brandon was not interested in covering any of the costs of our move. As no one could use the property, this wasn't an inconvenience to anyone While my husband and I moved belongings and threw away the food and meals we had bought and prepared, my son used the wi-fi to take his online college course. The hotel only had an unsecure connection. We only left some supplements and medicine in the fridge until our departure day. We did not use the fridge other than storage. We had wanted to use the Marla Bay beach to at least be able to swim in the lake, but the codes were changed. My husband *had* asked to sit on the back porch, but everything was a negotiation (nothing was done with kindness) and the house was just a reminder of how awful the trip had turned out. We didn't do that either. 3. We DID NOT stay there for 5 uninterrupted nights before the line broke. It was 4 (details should be accurate) and included , as it has every year, cleaning bathrooms, dishes, utensils, and glasses. To think that including the cleaning deposit in the refund we waited 8 days for was some act of benevolence is laughable. 4. He did print my husband a check. I guess he can celebrate that truth. It was the day before we left and he had tried to postpone the meeting twice because he's busy. He threw an unfeeling "sorry" over his shoulder as my husband left. We cashed the check that day because of our experience. We have never been treated with the indifference that Brandon showed us. We have been staying in Tahoe for 20 years. Sixteen of those years were with other agencies. We know Tahoe is wonderful. We know what other agencies are capable of just as we now see what Brandon is capable of. I'm sure he'll send my husband another text. If Brandon had spent the time and energy to take care of his renters that he has spent responding to bad reviews, he may not get bad reviews. BTW. The helpful score below is from my friends who know me to tell the truth.
