I can't believe that I am the first to review this place. What a hidden gem. If you are in Ottawa and you want some history, please check this out. It is the first house of the Governor General. It is beautiful, both the art work and the furniture. Occasionally the current Governor General is in the house and on the grounds. You need to go on a guided tour, you are not allowed to wander at your leisure. However, our guide was amazing. He was informative fun and interesting. We also have a daughter with special needs, and he went above and beyond to make sure she was included in the guided tour. We really appreciated this, and it is not often that this happens on guided tours. The grounds them selves are gorgeous (unfortunately it was pouring raid when we were there, so we were a little hindered in our exploration). Please go, it was one of the things we loved about Ottawa. read more
