They assume that every parent who is behind on child support is some deadbeat he doesn't care about their kids and doesn't respect the court order. They don't take in the consideration that the reason the person may be behind is out of their control possibly they were injured and unable to work maybe they were laid off with unfortunate circumstances or maybe their ex-spouse is just a liar who is paid and then pretends like they didn't receive any money. They have plenty of repercusiones to throw at the noncustodial parent; suspension of licenses even threats of jail however if you are the custodial parent you are golden you never lie, what you say is perfect and true and when you do lie there's no repercussions for your actions. Today I was paying my fiancés child support through this automated machine where you have to feed the dollars into it- a completely ridiculous way to collect money when you could have a real person who is sitting there doing nothing collect the money and it would go a lot quicker. I arrived at 445pm plenty of time to pay before they close so I thought. While this machine was taking 20 minutes to suck in $427 I had a 400 pound cow telling me that how I was going to have to stop doing my payment so she could go home because the office was now closed. I told her she could wait because it is not my fault that they choose to have an archaic machine collect support rather than the person who is sitting behind a desk doing nothing. I was absolutely going to finish what I was doing because the length of time it takes for this machine to suck in the money is not my problem it's theirs. I told her that I found her rude and unprofessional and that it is no wonder that people do not like to deal with that office. She then told me that maybe I should pay my child support and then I would have my license and it would not be suspended mind you she made the statement without even knowing the circumstances of the case which are that it is under review because the other parent has lied about support that was given to her and there are actually canceled checks to prove that she was paid. How does woman know anything about the case? Had she known anything about the case maybe she would've kept her mouth shut but instead she was in a hurry to get home to dinner which she did not need to eat and chose to break confidentiality with her comments and I run her mouth about something she knew nothing about. She couldn't wait to tell me she was "Theresa a Supervisor year", well Theresa i'm a lawyer in a pair of sweatpants looking like crap and now I'm yelping you and filing a formal complaint against you enjoy the demotion. To say these people are unprofessional is an understatement. If you can avoid ever going there do it and try never to have them involved in your life ever. But above all-MAIL YOUR PAYMENT- rather than go into that office.

Especially for inmates that need longer term mental health care and interventions to curb criminal behaviors. Just putting them back out on the street makes the situation remain horrific and on going. I'm told that the facility is ICE cold and that there is not enough food for inmates who do not have access to accounts. This jail is archaic in its effectiveness and accountability. If the Judicial system were to step up and rule appropriately the penal system could also make an impact. This is NOT happening.

No updated furniture or decor. No wifi, no bedsheets, urine on the floor. I asked for the complimentary slippers when you visit and they refused. Urine on socks. Another guest tried to remove my face mask and we both had to be separated. Not a good first impression. The second and most recent visit, the food I was given was a piece of bologna in a bag, cheerios also in a bag, a warm carton of milk and an incredibly dry muffin. There were no vegan options and when I asked they slammed the cell door in my face. The next time I visit (if ever) please ask housekeeping to clean the hospitality area upon my arrival, and maybe a pillow?

The documents were scheduled to arrive the evening of the 28th, but they did not. I was leaving the next day, and needed those documents for a trip out of the country. I delayed my departure, and went to Post Office in Scotts Valley, hoping perhaps the package was in their distribution area and I could just pick it up. I was told by staff there that they called the delivery driver, that he had the package, and that he would be delivering it between 10-10:15 AM to the Postal Annex where I have a mailbox. So, I delayed my departure in order to wait for these important documents. At 10:45 when he arrived, he said he did not have the documents, that they called him to ask his ETA but never asked if he had my package. And, he did not have it and knew nothing about it. Unable to wait longer, and since nobody could tell me where the package was at that point, we left town. At 3:34 PM, I received notification that the driver had attempted to deliver the package but the Postal Annex was closed. Nope, they don't close until 5:30PM. So, I called the Postal Annex to find out if they may have closed early. Nope. The owner of Postal Annex confirmed they were, indeed, open. That they were waiting for my package and knew they'd have to hustle to send it overnight to my layover location in Oregon. (Excellent customer service by THEM!) The owner called the post office and told them their delivery person had lied because they were there, they were open, and they were waiting for my package. Magically, the driver returned at 4:03 PM to deliver my package. Interestingly, the tracking information no longer showed the "unable to deliver message" as if it had been deleted. I now have to pay $95 to have it over-nighted to Oregon. I have to use UPS, because that was the only option so late in the afternoon. Our USPS has a terrible reputation and I do my best to avoid them at all costs. This is why. Do better.
